i was reading the Delo gold Ultra/ delo gold 400/ and rimula R3 and R4 data....
note: all those 3 mentioned oils are classified as HDEO(heavy duty engine oil)
they all say that their oils can last up to 30,000 kms... they were pertaining to trucks and other heavy equipment usage...
i was just guessing why ordinary consumers like us change it at 5000kms.....when we even don't get the punishment the heavy industries experience.haha
RE: Mobil 1 0W-40
I'm not sure of their differences aside from the obvious: the price, place of manufacture, and color of packaging (gold vs. silver) .
^What is the equivalent for Motul ?
So far, I only tested it with:
2011 L300 (w/ power steering)
1990 L300 pawis steering
Both no aircon. I think it will fit even with those with a/c.
=====================
What is the equivalent of Rimula R3X to the Delo line up (Gold, Gold ultra, etc...) ?
2760/pail and 20 liters so its Php 138/lit. That would be Delo Gold (yellow cap) territory

How about CI-4 rated like DGU or Mobil Delvac MX? Meron din bang pail (20 liters)?
meron mobil delvac na per pail, nasa 4.5k plus.... sa DGU sa caltex stations around 3800 per pail...
hindi lang kasi API rating dapat basehan ng oils... there's little difference between CI-4 and CH-4... (mostly for the EGR systems ang difference)
mas maganda if ok ang mga elements and additive systems present in the oils,,,
^ Same lang halos performance ng DGU at Mobil delvac MX.
Delo Gold Multigrade 15w40 would be the counterpart of R3X. Their both CH-4 rated. DGU is aready CI-4. Delo 400 is CI-4+
There is also a Delo Gold Monograde 40 & 30 afaik although the 30 SAE will be tough since its not that saleable.
I would like to share my observations on 3 motor oils. All data were collected with a least 7 full tanks of fuel. I drive the same route everyday and have pretty similar traffic conditions. The way I compute my FC is by recording the amount of fuel that was required to fill my tank, then divide it over the distance I covered.
Mitsubishi Turbo XP "Fully Synthetic" (Group III)
-535km/full tank or 8.9km/L
Mitsubishi Mineral Oil (Group II)
-500km/full tank or 8.3km/L
Royal Purple HPS (Group IV)
-600km/full tank or 10km/L
Haven't computed yet the correction factor since i'm using slightly bigger tires than stock. Im using GLS wheels and tires on a GLX model Strada.
Here is the FC with correction factor included. By the way, I'm also using K&N drop-in filter and I always gas up at Sea Oil.
Mitsubishi Turbo XP "Fully Synthetic" (Group III)
-546km/full tank or 9.1km/L
Mitsubishi Mineral Oil (Group II)
-511km/full tank or 8.5km/L
Royal Purple HPS (Group IV)
-612km/full tank or 10.2km/L
Its amazing that per full tank, I save about 290php compared with the Mitsubishi Turbo XP and 500php compared with the Mitsubishi Mineral Oil.
One thing I like about Mitsubishi is that, they do not charge corkage when I bring my own oil during PMS. Not like Honda where they charge 20% of the value of the oil.![]()
