I use Zic X7 5w30 (API SN, ILSAC GF5) for my FXT. I got it from an OLX seller in QC for around 400 per liter.

^^^ The oil they offer is not within requirement specs of the FA20. Zic X7 is just what Subaru states in the manual.

what particular brand do you use?

    synthetic? 10kms interval change oil

semi / mineral? 5kms interval change oil
As per my mechanic advice experience if your car is alteady old model then go for mineral oil and if new car go for fully synthetic...

haha yeah. the manual is already written in very precise language yet many people including mechanics still insist on their alternative ideas like they have any idea in tribology and engine design

we have to remember that car industry is heavily dependent on REPUTATION. car makers have a strong incentive to promote their brand's reputation for reliability. so they'll never print something in the manual that'll diminish the reliability and thus the reputation.

so the popular conspiracy theory that the printed PMS schedule actually ruins your engine so the car maker can sell you another car is BS an unreliable engine will kill your brand period

well honda screwed up and incorrectly specified ATF for their own CVT's

here's a page from the GD service manual

    ATF Replacement (CVT)

ang nag kakalat nyan balita nyan sir is yun mga nagbebenta ng after market brands and services. for example about coolant and ATF maintenance schedule. kaya daw "long life" ang marketing ng mga car manufacturers is para daw at the end of the day is diretso na masira ang transmission dahil sa hinde pagpapalit ng fluid or cooling system kasi hinde napapalitan ang coolant.

After surface cleanup, pwede spray nalang ng forgot the chemical name, pero tipong brake cleaner, after washing nga with detergent
