Not true. Use the best oil you can afford (or allowed by your dealer) on your first oil change.

I use my car everyday at an average of 50-55km mileage. Nearing for an oil change at 45,000kms. Currently using zic a+ with baldwin filter. Before i used zic a semi-synthetic. Nag change ako sa zic a+ kasi sabi sakin mas maganda hatak ng makina. Pero minimal lang pala. Still thinking if i'm going back to semi-synthetic and change oil every 5k or mag fully synthetic ulit ako. Zic a+ parin gagamitin ko. I also want to try diesel engine oils like zic rv, zic up or caltex delo gold. Please give some inputs kung anu mas ok. For vios gen2 pala ito. Thanks

Maganda ang zic na brand. I think top maker ng group 3 base in the world.

Yung fully synthetic kasi pwede group 3 or group 4 pao. So allowed imarket as fully synthetic kahit group 3.

Mga binebenta engine oil sa casa are group 3 fully synthetic. Even sa ace hardware.

    If zic gamit ka A+ 5w30, XQ 5w40 or RV+ 5w30

Un zic a+ na gamit ko ngayon is 5w30 and un previous na zic a (semi-synthetic) 10w40. Pag dating sa pang diesel engine oils no idea talaga ako.

Zic rv is their mid end oil. Zic xq is their top of the line oil. Some zic xq have grp4 while zic rv is only grp3.

Yung XQ 5w40 SM/CF mas better for gasoline engine.

For diesel engine mas ok pa din CI-4 CH-4

    Mejo OT mga sirs:
Me konti akong bloopers di kami nagkaintindihan nung sa changeoil ko, later on 20w-50 ung naikarga sa 07 altis ko. Recommended is anywhere bet 5 to 20w30. Is it safe na sa next pms nalang palitan or palitan ko na now? Less than 100kms palang tinakbo, ala pa naman issue. Ano opinion nyo mga boss.

Sayang naman kung papalitan mo agad. Gamitin mo hanggang 3,000 to 5,000 kms.

Hi admin, pardon for barging-in. cant open a new thread for now.

I just bought a 2007 Vios 1.5G manual tranny with an odometer reading of 78k. Since this is my first car, im a NEWBIE when it comes to car maintenance. Just want to know what type/brand of coolant (coolant compartment is almost empty) i need to add and type/brand of engine oil (current color is amber brown) to use. Kindly include type/brand of steering wheel and brake fluid you recommend to use. Former owner of the car is already on other country that's why I cant get advise/feedback from him.

Thank you very much for your feedbacks to come.

P.S. You may put this topic on proper thread if you may..

And make sure na warmed up na engine mo pag nag check ka. Dont use plain water alone.
Steering fluid? Hindi pa ba EPS and 2007 model? Dexron 3 atf should be fine as PS fluid. Brake fluid naman any brand will do basta DOT3. I suggest caltex or shell or mag1.
Enine oil any will do. 15w40 mineral, 5w30/10w30 for fully synthetic.
Better post you next queries sa Vios thread

check mo rin mabuti yung coolant compartment, kasi sa car ko, not toyota, mahaba siya so baka akala mo halos ubos na kasi malalim ang full level indicator.

Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?
