Sentra ECCS...Sorry, I failed to notice it.

I'm wondering, what is the idle-up mechanism of this car when AC is on, vacuum assisted, electronic spark advance with IAC valve activation.

    Suggested order of inspection.

    1. Battery connections and battery
    2. Alternator belt
    3. Alternator
    4. Idle-up mechanism (is idle 750 RPM when AC is on)
    5. ?
    6. ?

Is the battery indicator on the dashboard lit up?

Almost the same set of symptoms happened to our ECCS a long time ago. 2 days later, it will no longer start due to a dead battery. We later found out that the alternator brushes were already worn out and it was no longer charging the battery.

Just be very careful. Removing the negative terminal from the battery pole will do just fine for a quick check.

Not advisable on cars with ECMs, which the Sentra ECCS obviously has. Doing so may introduce electrical surges and could cause more damage. Much more if indeed the alternator or RR is defective and is sending out unregulated and/or noisy electricity.

Think of the battery as one giant capacitor.

Beyond the hands of a good electrician, the Nissan CONSULT should be able to tell you if the charging system is out of spec.
