My mechanic told me na instead na bumili pa kami ng engine flush, pwede na daw ang kerosene. Is this okay?

    TIA.

engine oil flush? imho, hindi pwede yan. oil flushes are basically oils with low viscosity. it might harm your engine.

IMO wag! Need ba talaga i-flush? Napabayaan ba sa oil change interval at nag sludge?
Even engine flush is not good kung periodic naman ang oil change.

bro, wag ka gagamit ng engine oil flush, makakadamage yan sa mga moving metal parts sa loob ng makina mo. nakakanipis ng yan ng metal. better to use a low grade oil for about 2 days then palitan mo na ng high grade oil. maaaring sumama na lahat ng dumi sa loob ng makina. regular oil change prevents costly problems sa engine.

I think, it's your mechanic who should be flushed. Just my humble opinion

Follow the advice stated above, and just keep the car in good shape with regular oil changes with good quality filters.

If you're doubtful have the lower oil pan removed and inspect for metal bits.

wahehehe.. lolz. lagyan mo ng Kerosene tapos sindihan mo! bwakekekeke JK!

anywayz, as everyone stated. hindi talaga maganda gumamit ng Engine Flush. kahit dito sa US, even though there are some Engine Flush systems/additives that you can buy (and is very cheap), most mechanics and shops still dont recommend doing it. coz the main problems of Engine Flush is that they destroy the Valve Stem Seals (even some Main Seals and Gaskets..) and the Rod and Main Bearings. Engine Flush thins out the Oil, hence it losing its viscosity. and basically its like mixing Fuel w/ Oil, which is not very good on 4 stroke engines (2 strokes, pwede pa.. but for modern 4 stroke engines, its definitely a NO NO!)

    aite, peace.

    Makikialam narin ako.

*Bry your mechanic is RIGHT only if he knows the right procedures. I say this because KEROSENE flush really works, not an Urban Legend. We have done this before when I was in Military (not U.S goverment vehicle) with cars. I would say it safe since all the cars we did is having no problems or complain from the owner some said their engine perform much better than it was.

    Procedure:

    1. Drain your old engine oil, except one quart. Do not remove old oil filter.
    2. Add approx. 3 quarts of kerosene into your engine.
    3. start engine. DO NOT GUN THE ENGINE.
    4. Let it run until warm. NOT HOT just WARM. about 6-10 Min.
    5. Turn off engine
    6. Drain the entire contents. replace plug.
    7. Pour one quart new oil and 3 quarts kerosene again into the engine.
    8. Start engine until slightly warm. Again DO NOT GUN YOUR ENGINE
    9. Turn off engine
    10. Drain the entire contents. This time you can now remove your oil filter.
You can pour kerosene into the engine(NON RUNNING ENGINE) as it drains out until it comes out clear. You could blow AIR your engine spout if one available.
    11. Pour two quarts of oil and let it run out untill comes out of the oil pan.
    12. Replace new oil filter/ plug and add your favorite oil. Start engine. Check for level.

OPTIONAL: You can drain your oil one more time Or you could change it after 500 Kilometers. Then resume routine maintenance.
    This is a great job!

The residue that comes out be BLACK and TIN liquid. Chunks and sludge disolved by kerosene.

This procedures is safe TO ME and other previously car done. I honestly perform and actually did the job in my other car too.

If planning to do this I would say why not, but I am not resposible for any problem arise by doing this. Again, I experienced this before and Ill do it again.
