pano nga ba?
AFAIK, kung yung immobilizer ng alarm and pinaguusapan, it simply kills the starter circuit.
my echo has one
kaya siguro my echo comes with 3 keys![]()
I think it is not really a plain "chip" or IC chip, it's possibly something like a reed switch which functions "like" a magnetic sensor to identify the presence of the right keys. Imbeded ang sensors sa plastic protion
Pero kung di-baterya ang susian then it probably functions like an RF transmitter.
What is embedded in the key is one precision resistor. When you insert the key in the ignition, the resistor becomes part of a simple circuit involving 3 other resistors. If the key does not have a resistor or if the resistor has the wrong value, the circuit disables part of the car's electrical system to prevent the car from starting.
So why is this system using something as mundane as a single resistor rather than some sort of sophisticated embedded computer? There are probably two reasons: 1) manufacturing cost, and 2) reliability. The latter is probably a very big part of the equation. Think about everything a key goes through -- it's typically riding in a pocket full of coins, getting thrown on the table, opening bottles, and so on. Keys have to be remarkably durable, they have to last the life of the car, and they must always work. If a system that depends on a single resistor can do a good job, then that's a good system to use because there is less that can go wrong.
boybi, if your key (metal part) has two contact points... you can measure it by the use of precision tester using the resistance setting. if the resistance does not varies if you change the polarity of the wire probe, it is a resistor, otherwise it might composed of circuits...
benny010, walang contact point akong nakikita sa key. the metal part is just a solid metal. pero dun sa jacket meron kasing tab na parang pwdeng buksan.

Q, fellow trooper owners,
pinalitan nyo na ba oem alarm ng trooper, and if yes, anong brand.

RedHorse, di ako nagpalit ng oem alarm... ok na kasi ako sa existing silicon alarm ng trooper... bakit ganun, sususian mo? ibig ba sabihin nag-sound yung alarm pero di nagbikas ang pinto? baka may problema sa connection ng auto power door lock , or its actuator.
experienced this with the starex..Originally Posted by RedHorse
