How to differentiate RF Mazda or Kia?

I plan to change my engine with Mazda RF made in Japan and not RF made in Korea for Kia, the surplus shop are flooded with RF engines...the prob is this, when I ask them whether the engine I'm pointing is Mazda or Kia they'll always answer Mazda. How do we know if it's Mazda or KIA?

check the engine serial number:

it should start with R2, RF, or HW. R2 and RF are mazda engines HW is the Kia engine

I have seen some diesel Sportages with non-surplus R2 engines straight from the factory.
