Mga Sir schedule ko po mag pa change oil this month sa honda accord model 96 a/t ko. Yung last na ginamit is shell helix 20w-50. Meron day kasi engine oil na nagbibigay ng magandang hatak at mas mabilis ang takbo. baka po my idea kayo kung anong engine oil yun at kung magkano (im sure mas mahal yun kesa sa helix) TIA.

I would stick to any 20w-50 oil. In my case anything else medyo malakas oil consumption (dahil na rin cguro high mileage na yung vehicle). Recommended sa manual nung sakin 20w-50, check yours kung ano recommended and stick to that. May nabibili na royal purple na 20w-50 kung gusto mo ng fully synthetic.

v6 AFIAK mahirap hanapin dito sa pinas ang 5w-20 lalo na if fully synthetic. RP does not carry them

kahit anong oil pwede sa accord, usually 10w-20 ang nilalagay diyan for full synthetic.

I think an SAE 5w20 or 10w20 oil is too thin for Philippine conditions. that's just going to be between 5.6 to 9 cSt at 100 celsius. Our typical SAE 20w50 engine oils would have a viscosity of 17 to 21.9 cSt at 100 celsius. It may save you on fuel but you might sacrifice your engines life. better check your manual if they recommend 5w20 or 10w20. It is also very rare to find a 20 grade oil. even SAE 30s are a rare sight here due to our hot climates. I think 5w30 and 10w30 are very much acceptable since BMW Philippines use 0w30 oils on their cars but you still have to double check coz each manufacturer have their own design their engines

pra sakn ang best na nagbibigay ng hatak is friction buster oil additive
i hahalo lng cia sa ordinary oil na 20/50

napakaganda pa for protection against wear and tear ng makina

eto email ko the_machine58*yahoo.com for more info

    gud day,

just want to share my opinion regarding recomended oil for a honda engine, I just look sa manual ng honda car ko, the lowest possible oil grade na allowable sa 40+c ambient temp is 0w-20, so i would suggest look at you manual and look for the oil that will allow using the lowest possible oil on our ambient temp... philippines tropical temp is usually 18 to 37 degree celsius average whole year round... as u can see sa manual even 0w20 ang oil na gamitin ko, pasok pa rin ksi ang allowable is 0w20 oil for above 40 celsius degree, eh ambient temp natin is usually 37 degrees celsius lang, so pasok parin... but kung nasanay na ung engine nyo sa diet of 20w50 oil from the day you bought the car, eh wag nyo na palitan, baka magloko lang lalo ung engine, pero if kakatapos lang ng break in, i suggest use the lowest oil possible, for economy and engine durability.

thank you for reading and God bless sa inyo...

20w50 is too thick for the accord. a 10w40 will work fine and will give you better power and gas consumption.

Best oil for honda accord
