March 7th, 2009 12:24 PM #13gud day,
just want to share my opinion regarding recomended oil for a honda engine, I just look sa manual ng honda car ko, the lowest possible oil grade na allowable sa 40+c ambient temp is 0w-20, so i would suggest look at you manual and look for the oil that will allow using the lowest possible oil on our ambient temp... philippines tropical temp is usually 18 to 37 degree celsius average whole year round... as u can see sa manual even 0w20 ang oil na gamitin ko, pasok pa rin ksi ang allowable is 0w20 oil for above 40 celsius degree, eh ambient temp natin is usually 37 degrees celsius lang, so pasok parin... but kung nasanay na ung engine nyo sa diet of 20w50 oil from the day you bought the car, eh wag nyo na palitan, baka magloko lang lalo ung engine, pero if kakatapos lang ng break in, i suggest use the lowest oil possible, for economy and engine durability.
thank you for reading and God bless sa inyo...

April 10th, 2009 10:27 AM #1420w50 is too thick for the accord. a 10w40 will work fine and will give you better power and gas consumption.
