March 21st, 2017 02:55 PM #1Can I use high mileage oil in a new car? Or a car that has 20k kms on the odometer?
Been looking for MAG1 oil, and yung 5w30 na semi-synth yung packaging is may naka lagay na high mileage. Wala na ko makita na walang high mileage. Pwede ba sa new car or car na mababa pa ang mileage?

I wouldn't do it.
It is said that high-mileage oils have additives in them that promotes rubber components such as worn seals to expand. If you do that to a relatively new engine, you may end up shortening the life of these seals instead.
Only use fit-for-purpose oil for your vehicle.

Common sense. Low mileage car, high mileage oil. Not match.
oj88 is correct. the oils for high mileage cars have that compounds that make the seals expand. It will make your engine wear out sooner.
The car is new, why use MAG1 oil? Dami namang ok dyan eh.
As they say, never scrimp on the oil. Its your car's lifeblood. Mas malaki magagastos mo pag makina mo nasira.

March 23rd, 2017 02:06 PM #7No! You should only start switching to high mileage oil at more than 120,000km
Be careful with channels like "China Observer" on YouTube. There is a clear bias in their posts and...
