Im using a Simota Air Filter, and medyo luma na din sya, madumi na masyado. In your opinion, ano dapat ko gawin, bumili ng air filter cleaner then clean my old Simota, or just buy a new K&N Filter na may lifetime warranty? Simota kasi dapat daw i-replace, e talagang madumi na yung akin eh... thanks!

I suggest you get a K&N tapos bili ka ng K&N filter charger/cleaner

Tama po si Jaspi11, a dirty air cleaner will affect the performance of your engine and your gasoline consumption.

I usually buy the cheapest air filter and replace at EVERY oil change. Php 140.00 lang ata ang air cleaner para sa Isuzu Elf (adapted for use sa Pajero).

Si Auto_Xer ang dealer ng K&N diba?

Try cleaning it first pag pwede pa then ok na iyon., Pag di na kaya then replace.

sabi friend ko linis na lang daw, ganun din ginagawa nya sa filter nya. All he said was:

"use konting gas, add some joy, and water. yung gas pantanggal ng dumi, joy sa grasa at duming makapit, then ikot-ikot mo ung face ng filter dun, tanggal yung dumi, biglang lulutang sa mixture. Then rinse with water...... ibilad sa araw until fully dried na, or dalhin sa gas station, ipa air jet daw para mas mabilis matuyo....then ok na, useable for another 10000km, then do again until kaya pa ng filter.....same for the breather..."

    tama kaya ito?

    phillipogi,

Never used pressurised water or air on a reusable air filter. You will destroy it. It may look ok pero either crushed na or punctured ang filtering material niya.

Nasa manual ng K&N iyan. Use the cleaning kit if possible. Kasi dapat lubricated parati ang cotton filter. If you let it dry, it will just flake off and it will be destroyed.

i remember auto_xer posted in another board that the material used by simota greatly differs with what k&n uses. baka if you use detergent and gasoline, mas madali for the filter element to break down. suggest you replace it na lang.
