    Anyone who could recommend a shop that offers gas engine overhaul? The car is a Corolla XL 2001. Estimate of Toyota Pasong Tamo would reach around 80 thou and would be done in three weeks time! Rip off ba?

    BTW, kumakain na ng oil yung makina. Every 2,500 kms nauubos yung langis nya.

    Get at least a 2nd opinion from another shop if overhaul na nga ang kailangan. Hindi naman oil leak lang?

    If it's not under warranty anymore, no sense in having it done at the casa... as it'll always cost you an arm and a leg. Better to have it estimated outside, but make sure you can chase down the mechanic if anything goes wrong afterwards...

    Grabe, 2001 lang overhaul na? What have you been using that car for? Towing lumber up the mountains?

    baka oil seal lang yan. a few years ago medyo wala pako alam sa maintenance tumatagas ng oil ang engine ng corona. sabi ng kausap ko sa toyota shaw ortigas pa ata yun overhaul na daw. gago talaga yun, mga oil seal lang pala nung pinagawa ko sa labas.

    overhauling price will depend what needs to be replaced. madali lang umabot ng 80k if all original parts yung papalitan and madami sira.

    pero if it's running pa kaso nauubos lang oil then that seems a bit high. malamang at most piston rings, new or honed sleeves and new conrod and main bearings kung kinain na due to lack of oil, plus the normal work to the valves and seals in the head. pero that's probably the worst case na.

    bro sure bah talaga overhaul nayan? pa check mo compression tests and wla naba talaga pwersa? maganda paba tunog engine mo? baka oil seals,valve guide, leaking ba?white smoke ba?blowby ba? lumalabas bah langis sa cap ng langis? ang bilis nman nyan sakin 10 years na wla parin ganda parin tunog ng engine.. ilan na tabko ? grabe yan ah.. tsk tsk.. bro get a 2nd,3rd opinion. good luck!

    sa officemate ko po ito..lumapit sya sakin for advice...according to him walang tulo ng langis..walang sign ng langis sa garahe nila...malakas naman daw ang hatak...and this is maintained by our company. Every 5thou kms nasa toyota ito..walang mintis yan..60thou ang mileage..city driving...

    na noticed din nya na me sign ng langis sa tailpipe niya...

    any advice ko saan magandang magpagawa? other than casa..we got the formal extimate ng toyota and it costs 89thou!

    could be a busted pcv valve or something simple like that. better to get an estimate tho.

    kung laging maintained by your company tapos sa casa pa. bakit ganun? san lumalabas yun oil? at bakit nauubos ng walang tulo/tagas sa area? better pa 2nd opinion ka po. and the price ng casa is 80T parang bumili ka na ng 2nd hand na car. mag 2nd opinion ka na lang po ulit. para sure
