I presume this was in the US? How did they do that the pumps are color coded to prevent this kins of thing?

I hope I am wrong but it could mean bye bye diesel engine....

AFAIK, diesel engines work by burning fuel through high temperature and pressure, vs. gasoline engine by spark. Gasoline will definitely explode prematurely in a diesel engine which could destroy its walls and fuel injection....

    Diesel gurus?

Depends on the amount added and the engine. There are two immediate impacts of diesel fuel mixed with gasoline: the octane is lowered and the fuel vaporization is reduced. The lowered octane may cause the engine to knock. YUng ibang engines have knock sensors and the electronic controls will adjust the timing and other engine conditions to try to control the knock. If the knock remains significant it can damage the engine by causing metal fatigue eventually leading to failure of critical parts like pistons, connecting rods, heads.

In your case, nakatakbo na ng 5-10 kms... at kamo namatay na ng tuluyan. Balitaan mo kami.

At least it would lessen human errors..

    2cents! OT pala ako..

For me try to flush out muna fuel system saka try to start uli. Sabi nga ni ni sir CVT diesel can burn by high pressure not like gasoline which is can burn by spark. Baka naparami ang gasoline kaya ayaw magstart ng auto mo kasi nga hindi nya maburn ang gasoline by high compresion only.

Correct. Its not only green color on the handle of the nozzle they are bit bigger than gas nozzle. How did he do it? I dont know but my friend was so mad since the vehicle is only a week old.

Iyong kakilala kong girl, ipinagpilitan niya iyong nozzle dahil nagmamadali at hindi niya napansin nasa DIESEL pump pala siya...iyon palit ang makina ng kanyang bagong Toyota Land Cruiser.

what an expensive way to learn a lesson... yan din pala ang hirap sa self-service wala kang masisisi na gas attendant.

hew wala pa yung mekaniko ko but we've already flushed out the fuel. 200 lang yung pinakarga ko last night so siguro around 4 liters ang nakarga. kanina around 26 liters yung nakuha namin plus 1 na lang siguro dahil medyo nakalayo pa ako kahapon. argh
