    how top mount intercoolers with fans under the intercooler to suck cold air in? just like the TCI and CRDI GRX starex. i know the grandstarex moved the intercooler to the front.. would the fan offset the heat of the engine?

    The problem isn't just the engine heat... it's flow reversion at high speeds... where the air tends to go out the intercooler scoop rather than in. A fan could help... if it's strong enough to combat the reverse flow.... but a simpler and more reliable method is just to front mount.
