Erratic reading ng fuel guage

i just had this lately. pag bumababa sa first line (1/4) ng fuel guage ang needle, nagiging erratic na ang reading nya. sometimes sumasagad hanggang letter "E", which is impossible coz nagiging ganun lang ang reading pag engine is off. however, it tends to get back to normal pag naka hinto lang ako (idling), dahan-dahang umaakyat ang needle to the correct reading. pagtakbo ko naman, balik to erratic reading ulit. it only occurs when my fuel is below the first line ng fuel guage (below 1/4). kase pag nagpakarga ako ng lampas dun, ok naman ang reading, walang problema kahit tumatakbo. my ride is a nissan vanette

could it just be the fuel moving around the fuel tank as you driving along? Its a normal occurence in my car, example if I stop on a hill, my fuel guage will read lower or higher depending if the car was facing uphill or downhill.

yes i experienced that reading before nung normal pa ang fuel guage. umaakyat ang needle pag facing upward, bumababa naman pag facing downward. this time its different, kahit nasa patag lang ako, erratic talaga sya. i know that there's something wrong coz hindi ganito ang fuel gauge ko dati. sobrang erratic na umaabot ng 5mm ang agwat ng mga readings nya

maybe the float in your fuel tank has become defective?

malamang nga. pero nagiging ok kase sya pag more than 1/4 ang fuel eh. hindi kaya meron lang grounded sa wiring? anyway, free rin ba magpa checkup ng float?

I used to have the same problem, but it lasted maybe a week, then it went back to normal. I wasn't sure what the problem was either. I just have to get my Low Fuel light signal working, because once in a while when i go to start the car, I have no gas haha..so i have to go fetch gas. N plus, i always ride around on E, I like to live life on the edge. :P

im also having that problem bro. before kase, ok pa yung fuel guage ko and yung low fuel light. and like you, i used to drive around "E", until my low fuel light started to get busted, akala ko pundido na sa kakapatay-sindi

. so sa fuel guage nalang ako naglalaro...until heto ngayon ang nangyari

so how were you able to have your Low Fuel Light working?

had somthing similar happen to me before. ganito un, my signal light fuse would always bust and after na mangyayare un my fuel guage would go up to full.. everytime mag papalit ako ng fuse it would always bust after using my signal light and my fuel guage would go up. dinala ko sa reys. nakita nila may wires na nagdidikit na nabalatan which caused my signal light fuse to always bust. dont exactly know the connection with the fuel guage but mine was difinitly an electrical problem. anyway naayos naman after fixing the wires.
