    While driving po, biglang namatay ang engine, buti na lang malapit na lang sa bahay. Then after 15 mins (I went to call my suking mechanic) nag start na. Pina adjust ko ung menor (Sa gabi, bumababa ang menor to 550 - 600 when I turn on the headlights.) then while doing this bigla na naman namatay ung makina, pero na istart naman. Ano po kaya ang problema?

    Ride is XL 93 big body.

    2SM battery is old = more than 2 yrs (or maybe more), 2nd hand ko nabili ung kotse and 2 yrs na sa akin. May mga salt deposits sa takip ng battery.

    Iyong alternator napalitan na ng surplus 2 yrs ago.

    Napacheck ko na ang charging ng battery last week only ok naman daw. Pero sabi sa akin na it is time to change my old battery.

    Kaka change oil and minor tune up ko lang last week.

    Try cleaning your battery's terminals... baka loose contact lang yan.

    pag naka idle ka, dumidilim ang headlights? pag nakapatay ang engine mahina ang tunog ng busina mo? pag umaandar ang engine mo at nag rev ka, madilim pa rin ang headlights or lumiliwanag pa? dahil kung ganoon ang situation its either the battery since sinabi mo na morethan 2 yrs na siya at mahina na, or pag madilim ang headlights mo kahit nag rev ka malamang alternator ang may sira...

    eitherway its better to have professional mechanic take a look at it, hirap din masiraan sa daan... perwisyo, abala, init ng ulo, at karagdagan na gastos aabutin mo kapag nangyari iyun...

    Check the solenoid that's attached to your carburetor. If it breaksdown mawawalang ka ng menor.

    bro, ganiyan din oto ko..due for replacement ang battery ko, eh..pag bukas ng headlight, lumalabo ang clock...tapos pag naka-ac/sounds ala na busina..pero pag nagrev ako, bumabalik ang busina..pasaway ano? hehehehe


    the best, palit ng battery..baka itirik ka na nyan...hirap pag ndi na nag-start yan in the middle of the traffic...


    ako ipon pa ng konti para sa budget to replace the battery,eh...

    Sir Afrasay, tnx for the reply. Medyo iba ung reply mo pero napaisip ako kasi

    1.) di naman ako nagkakaproblem sa pag start ko sa umaga. One click lang, in fact di ko na inaapakan ang gas pedal bago ako magstart pero ok naman.

    2.) All lights, busina, wiper, radio, aircon ok naman. Kahit nakabukas lahat, di ko nakikita na lumalabo ang mga ilaw ko.

    3.) At noong nasiraan ako, naistart naman namin ung kotse (one click pa rin start na).

    Pero ung battery at alternator ipapacheck ko na rin, kasi matagal na battery ko at ung alternator ko napalitan na ng surplus.

    I think the culprit is the battery. Replace it since it's already 2 years old.

    AFAIK, especially with carb engines, they usually just don't die out while running if the battery dies out (unlike EFI cars)... correct me if i'm wrong on this. If it's not the battery, I'd look also at the carb or fuel pump.

    paps, suggestion lang ulit...pa-check mo battery mo...tsek mo pag cold start ano ang volt reading at pag naka-rev at full load, ano din ang reading...



    sabi ko nga sa yo, mahirap itirik sa gitna ng trapik...pero nasa yo pa din kung sa tingin mo okay pa ang battery mo, try mo na din i-check fuel pump..

    Sir paki elaborate more on the Carb side. Kasi ung fuel pump kakalinis lang a week before this happened (nag pachange oil and minor tune up ako). Para alam ko kung ano ung papacheck up ko. TIA.

    other than what were all suggested above, tell your mechanic to improve the grounding.. sounds like all electrical problem to me...

    Naalala ko lang is nag hazzard ako kasi busy street siya and umilaw naman. Malapit ng mag 12 noon that time. Di ko rin napansin kung umilaw ung battery sa panel gauge ko.

    Usually pag namatay ang engine or it won't start honking the horn wil give an idea how your battery is. Pag di na bumusina ng maganda sa voltage or connection yan. But if it just suddenly stop with your lights/aircon/radio still on malamang sa engine or carb yan. That thingie that i'm telling about is screwed in your carb sa side with a wire that attaches to your ignition key. It keeps the idle of you ride by feeding fuel to your carb. When you turn off your ignition it shuts off gasoline supply to your carb..

    As Nim ra had mentioned, wala namang problema yong pag-start ng sasakyan, in fact umandar din after 15 minutes. For me, its not the battery, dahil kahit wala kang battery puedeng umandar ang makina ng sasakyan kung itulak, pero kung walang gasolina ang carburator, kahit anong gawin mo di aandar yan. Nim ra said na umandar naman after 15 minutes. One click pa rin. My diagnosis? (IMHO) baradong fuel line o carburator. Most probably sa fuel filter at the fuel tank before the fuel pump. Ipa-check mo yong fuel filter na yon kasi yon actually is the first fuel filter na dadaanan ng gas bago pa sa fuel pump and not the one near the engine. It might be advisable to also drain your fuel tank. Bakit umandar after 15 minutes? Dahil patay ang fuel pump nag gravity flow ang gas at yong bara sa fuel line ay hindi na suck (dahail patay nga ang makina) kaya nakadaan yong gas papunta sa carburator kaya nagka-gas, umandar uli.

    Pag umilaw ang bat while engine is running it means LOW BAT KANA.

    replace it asap. goood luck!
