welcome, sir.
what car are we talking about, sir?
and please! stop belittling yourself! have a spine, sir!
now.. the thermostat controls coolang flow to the radiator. if the engine is cold, it stops coolant from going to the radiator, so the engine will get to operating temperature, faster. if engine is hot, it allows coolant to go to the radiator, where it gets cold.
the thermoswitch turns on and off certain appliances, in response to engine temperature. por ejemplo, if engine is hot, it turns on the radiator fan, so as to cool the coolant and the engine. if engine is cold, the thermoswitch turns off the radiator fan.
why are these two important? because the engine's efficiency is not so good at cold temperature. it also uses more fuel when cold.
kapag naka-rekta ang fan, walang silbi ang thermoswitch. palaging naka-on ang fan motor. naturally, it will have a shorter lifespan, compared to if it were to shut off every now and then. the engine will also reach optimum temp, slower.
thermostat and thermoswitch are not high tech. any decent mechanic can do it. wag mo nang ibalik yan sa mechanic mo. mukhang wala masyadong alam yan.
sa banawe, maraming paboritong mekaniko ang mga tsikoteers dyan..
have fun.
