engine "shudders" when starting from dead stop

hi peeps,


i've been noticing this for years now, but it seems to have gotten worse lately. At dead stop, especially when the engine is cold(though nangyayari din after driving for a while), my ride "shudders" before moving forward. Sa napansin ko, it usually disappears when i rev the engine a bit higher.

What could be the cause? Recently lang kasi naayos ung aircon, and i feel that the rpm drops very low at times(something like 400-600 ata); di ko lang napansin kung sabay ba sa low rpm ung pag shudder niya.

Or could there be something wrong with the transmission? (gasp)Sliding clutch?

check engine support. baka wasak na kaya nararamdaman mo na vibration pag nag engage ang aircon, wherein nadadagdagan ng load ang engine.

Youll need to look at the idle air accuator located on the throttle body poss clogged due to carbon or simpley quit working.

is your car equipped with a variable venturi carburetor?

its characteristics are: equipped with a sliding plunger with a needle installed on it, no choke plate, no throttle plate

Iyong tungkol sa pagbaba ng rpm pag nakabukas air con pa check mo na lang adjustment ng idling para sa aircon . masyado mababa ang idling mo.

You can try to isolate the problem.

Aircon - turn of the aircon then use the vehicle normally. If it doen's shudder then its the aircon.
If it still shudder check the engine and transmission mounts, if no fault is found.
then You might have a dragging clutch (if its manual tranny).

same response here. this shudder occurs when you engage the clutch. Worn out na yung clutch release bearing or pressure plate. pag replace nyan sabay sabay na. clutch disc, release bearing and pressure plate.

hmm...i think i had the clutch replaced about 5 years ago. medyo nagbababad ako sa clutch when driving, but i feels it's quite premature, since weekends ko lang siya ginagamit.

in any case, mahirap nang masiraan sa daan...gastos na naman :p

5 years is long enough kung babad ka magclutch lalo sa traffic. pwede na yan palitan.

question: given that may dragging clutch nga, is the car still driveable, for short trips (<5km)? i may need to use it kasi this weekend...

ok lang saglit lang naman gagamitin. wag lang patagalin. My neighbor had the same problem and didnt bothered to have it repaired and after more than a year of using it everyday tinirik na sya eventually due to overheated clutch disc and worn out pressure plate. ayaw kasi pumasok yun cambyo kahit na napalitan na yun master and slave cylinders.

Pwede pa naman gamitin yan kung dragging clutch lang, un nga lang sa tulad sinabi nya pwede mag init ng husto ang clutch at kakakalog kyan merong pedeng lumuag sa mga tornilyo mo or pede ma pwersa mga mounts.

Pero ako may ginagawa jan, pede mo adjust muna palayo ung clutch, yun nga lang medjo mahirap ipasok sa pirmera minsan.

update lang: i adjusted the idling this morning and drove with the AC off; nawala ung shudder, even if i was really light on the gas pedal. Try ko mag AC uli pag uwi..

kung ganun, mababa nga ang idling or di gumagana ang idle up ng aircon mo.

nagshudder uli :p di siya consistent eh, ok siya nung papunta akong megamall, up until pauwi na ako galing glorietta.

obserbahan ko uli; if the shuddering gets worse/more frequent, patignan ko na ung clutch
