    i'm currently having a problem with my '89 Corolla XL. For about 3 weeks, napapansin kong kumakadyot siya, even while at 1st or 2nd gear. On highways going 60kph and above kumakadyot din, but it seems more prevalent sa primera/segunda.

    Last weekend the problem got worse. It didn't used to die while idling, pero ngayon napapansin kong biglang bababa yung RPM, then dies out.
    i've tried raising the idle RPM pero namamatay pa rin. Right now i'm thinking that the kadyot is just a symptom of this, hindi lang siya namamatay 'coz i was stepping on the gas.


    OK pa naman yung hatak, If anything the response even got better after a visit to the talyer.

    Kakareplace lang ng
    - sparkplugs
    - contact point
    - clutch lining(eto ang hula ng mekaniko since kumakadyot pag primera, turns out mali pala. oh well)

    so ang suspetsa ng mekaniko is a dirty carb, which may have some credence since all this time, pieces of the rubber hose( connecting the ait filter housing to the front of the car) had been getting sucked into the carb all this time. Some of them have melted onto the air filter
    i've already tried cleaning it with a carb cleaner, no improvement.


    What other causes could there be, aside from the dirty carb?

    baka palitin na yung carb? check also the fuel filter sir

    I had that same exact problem sa Mazda ko before.
    The cause turned out to be the following
    1) Yung maliit na filter sa loob ng carb may bara na nag jelly form kaya i need to press hard on the gas para hindi mamatay.

    2) Vaccuum advancer sira na ang diaphram sa loob kaya erratic idling

    The fix
    For item 1: pinalinis ko carb then dalawang fuel filter na ginamit ko. Before going to fuel pump and before pumunta sa carb

    For item 2: Since wala na ako makita na vaccuum advance na pangpalit. Nag re route na lang ng vaccuum hoses and binarahan na lang yung isang port ng advancer. Then tune the carb again

    Before you check this route try mo muna mag carb cleaner baka makuha pa

    +1 on the carb.... try muna linisin.... pag ganun pa din, either replace or overhaul na.

    have you checked the distributor cap, ignition rotor and spark plug wires? better yet, replace them if they are over five years old

    Another thing that can be done is to do a compression check. If it's suffering from lose compression, root causes may include worn-out piston rings and/or cylinder walls, as well as valve seats not sealing well and/or worn-out valve springs.

    bili ka ng isang can carb cleaner .180 lang kuha ko nun hardex ang tatak..
    mas maganda kung maibaba ng buo ang carb para malinisan mabuti lahat ng butas.at mahalaga din may pang bomba ka sana air compresor or dalin mo nalang sa vulcanizing shop kung wala kang AC

    karaniwan naman problema yan kapag carb type ang tsikot. second opion wala sa timing.

    bili ka ng isang can carb cleaner .180 lang kuha ko nun hardex ang tatak..
    mas maganda kung maibaba ng buo ang carb para malinisan mabuti lahat ng butas.at mahalaga din may pang bomba ka sana air compresor or dalin mo nalang sa vulcanizing shop kung wala kang AC

    karaniwan naman problema yan kapag carb type ang tsikot. second opion wala sa timing.

    thanks for the replies...

    Yung contact point OK naman daw; sparkplugs kakapalit lang a few weeks ago(pero pansin ko parang ang dumi na). fuel filter OK pa naman daw.
    i've also tried to clean it with a carb cleaner pero ganun pa din


    Will try to replace the FF over the weekend first bago patignan yung carb -- it's never been cleaned since i started driving it, but as much as possible ayaw ko nang pagalawin at baka me iba pang tamaan.

    Pwede kayang fuel pump ang me tama?
