    Toyota Liteace 1993.

I only experienced this problem after loading up on 95-octane ProTec gas at Total, testing lang kumbaga. What happened is that the engine dies if I'm not revving it, even during coasting. Pina-drain ko na, then proceeded to load up on regular unleaded fuel. Anything else I need to have checked?

Fuel filter is clean according to the mechanic. Air filter was replaced just recently, wala pang isang buwan. Spark plugs were replaced only last April. Is it possible that the spark plugs got damaged with the higher-octane fuel?

Fuel lines and maybe fuel contamination. Try to drain all fuel and fill up a 91 octane shell unleaded kahit kunti lang. See what happens.

Already drained the fuel sir. I then replaced it with regular unleaded gas. Tapos nilaro laro ko yung rev for more than 15mins, ganun pa rin po. Almost as soon as the accelerator is released, mamamatay na yung engine.

Have you brought it to a reputable mechanic already?

While you're at it, check the fuel pump rin. If carb type ka pa, have the carb checked if it's working properly.

Ganito nangyari sa smallbody ko nuon. Nag try ako ng shell nitro. Ilang beses akong itinirik, nag tulak.

    Peace out!

Thanks for the inputs mga sir.

Within 30secs to 1min mamamatay na sya ulet, but it's still an improvement kahapon na bitawan mo lang yung pedal mamamatay na agad. Idle up lang kaya katapat nito? Kasi nung binuksan ko yung AC, umayos yung andar eh.

I'm also inclined to think na baka may natira lang dun sa pina-drain ko na ProTec at maaayos to just by driving around with my newly-filled tank.

Had it checked out this morning. Pinalitan spark plugs, nangingitim. Then eventually, kinalas yung karburador at nilinis, then binalik. Kaso di nila maayos. Medyo ok yung andar pag di nakakabit yung pipe assembly ng air filter. Pag kinabit, namamatay.

I need recommendations for carb specialists, preferrably in the south. Taga-Paranaque po kase ako at medyo nag-aalangan ako bumyahe nang malayo at baka itirik ako nung van. TIA.

Mga vaccum hose ba yung sinabi nya?

Possible din kasi na magbara yan eh all you need to do is remove is and have it clean by blowing pressurized air or replace it entirely kasi nasa around 30 pesos per feet lang naman yan to replace

Engine dies during idle, after filling up 95-octane gas
