Kamusta? I have a Honda Accord 96 that has a problematic engine block. I was supposed to get one of the engine supports replaced but what the mechanics discovered is that wala na masasalpakan ng turnilyo doon sa block kasi maluwag na yung mga thread tapos parang namumuti. They made a ridiculous claim that I have to get the whole engine itself replaced or just the block. Maghanda daw ako ng mga 75k. Walang hiya.

    Salamat.

drill and tap to next bigger size bolt lang ang solution dyan. say if the original bolt size is 10 mm then drill it to the hole size for a 11 or 12 mm bolt then rethread it using a 11 or 12 mm tap. so ang steps na gagawin mo is...

    1. find out what size is the original bolt. japan yan so metrict size yan.
    2. check if the metal around the bolt hole is still thick enough.
    3. buy the next bigger size tap. look at the side of the tap, the drill bit size is written/stamped on the tap stem.
    4. buy that drill bit size.

Tama ang sabi ni YEBO, drill and tap to next bigger size lan yan and save you thousand of pesos. Yong mekaniko, FIRED OUT mo nayan at kayo nalang ang mag-install, even a kid could do the job.

+1... no need for machine shops yan.... hand tap lang and drill panalo na yan.

your only problem is depending where the hole is situated, baka di mo maabot ng hand tap. you might really have to pull out the engine and do the tapping on an engine stand.

    goodluck!

ang tanong diyan, which side ng block ang may problema. but if its easy to reach, then you can drill/re-tap it with no problem, while the motor is in the car.

anywayz, maluwang naman ang engine bay ng Accord. specially if its a 4 banger. pero pag de-sais.. ewan ko nalang. lolz!

    aite, peace.
