if your engine is still using a carb, i-sakal daw yung carb when testing so your engine will run lean and give out lower emissions. Dunno if its effective though.

Just have your engine tuned-up before the registration. It will suffice. Pag alaga po ang engine siguradong it won't fail you. Goodluck. :D

The objective is for the car to emit clean exhaust gases.
Yung temporary solution tulad ng pagsakal ng carb defeats
    the purpose of emission testing.
Kaya nga ginagawa ito ay para all of us can breath clean
    air.
Paayos mo kotse mo para di ito smoke belcher. Its as simple
as that. Huwag na nating palusutan ito. Para sa atin din ang
    benepisyo ng clean air.

diba 90 pesos na lang ang bayad ngayon? pwede naman yata magpatest kahit malayo pa rehistro if you're in doubt of your car. in that way, alam natin kung ano pa ang dapat gawin para pumasa. heheheh i mean ano ang dapat ayusin sa kotse para passing number ang result.

saan ba kaunti lang ang pila?

TJMaxx, saludo ako sa sinabi mo.

I had my 4d56 tested kanina. Hehe ala ako magawa so tiningnan ko kung papasa siya (july pa ako due for registration by the way). Here's a list of what i did:

    1. Cleaned my air filter
    2. Cleaned my muffler/exhaust via "gripo"

Ang passing rate po for a normally aspirated engine (diesel) ay 2.5. But for new vehilces as of january 2003, 1.2 po ang passing. My engine got a high .88!

Subukan po muna ninyo ipatest..lets not cheat on the process.

We're just giving these oil companies a reason why they should jack up their prices while in fact the car owner should be the one responsible in keeping the vehicle pollution-free.

    IMO.

    Peace.

    mga peeps,
anybody here knows where i can have my emissions test in las piņas area? how much will it cost? I will be registering this coming feb. and i'm worried if my car ('83 lancer) would pass this test...Would change oil (semi-synthetic), new spark plugs, filters (air/oil)and tune-up do the job of reducing the smoke? What if i still fail the test even after performing the above? Would it help if i have my car serviced in a gas station and show them my receipts if this happens? Please help... Thanks alot in advance!

If you are due for registration already, txt mo ako para maischedule natin on a weekend...baka pwede kita samahan. Ano po ba ang ride ninyo?

Pumunta po ako sa testing center around 930am..mabilis lang po. I finished at around 10am :D

    mmc2,

The use of semi-synthetic might not improve your chances of better emission but tune-up (new sparkplugs, air and fuel filter, valve adjustment, air/fuel mixture adjustment) would do the trick. Chances are you won't fail if your vehicle is wel maintained. Walang effect if you show them the receipts that your car is tuned-up pero bagsak car mo sa emissions testing. If it still fails then find a better mechanic or shop than the one who first tuned it for a 2nd opinion. Goodluck.

tune up, change oil, under wash, engine wash, change air filter can somehow help you pass the emission
