Pa help naman sa car trouble ko
car details
toyota corona carb
12r engine
Oil change, air filter change two weeks ago, fuel filter and high tensions wires changed about 6 months ago, Radiator flush and cleaned a month ago.
I took a a road trip up to laguna about a week ago around 90kms. Got home okay and engine was running okay. On weekends i make it a habit to check my spark plugs para makita kung malinis pa and okay naman ang lahat.
Today i made a short trip to SM around 20kms away wala naman problema, pero on the way home about half way napansin ko biglang naging 1300 menor ko pero ok pa naman andar pero pag naka stop at idle malakas ang menor at vibration ng engine. Got home okay then checked my spark plugs asap, they were all covered with dry black carbon and the tip of my muffler also had black carbon on it, i cleaned off the spark plugs and sprayed carb cleaner down the carb at naging okay naman ang andar at bumalik sa dati ang menor, di ko pa nata try sa long drive uli at baka tumirik, ano po kaya problem ng car ko? TIA

Additional info:
Coolant is clear green, Oil is normal color... no overheating..
Gas is half full, same gas and gas station lang ang pinupuntahan ko.

Wag ugaliing weekly ang checking ng sparkplugs or else you'll destroy its gasket prematurely which can lead to compression problems or you could also cross thread the spark plug hole which is a bigger problem...
+1 sa sinabi ni niky because due to normal wear and tear. the adjusting screw tip undergoes wear and tear, the reason why we need to regularly tune up engines......hth

March 17th, 2011 02:10 PM #6Metallic silver ba RT140 mo boss?
Rosa baka ikaw yun.

TIA

I'm glad you like the classic 12 r engine. Napakatibay nyan. Kumusta fuel consumption mo sa city and highway?
Also, masisira thread ng sparkplug sockets pag lagi mo tinaatagal ang plugs..

March 21st, 2011 02:59 PM #9Malakas ba magbawas sa oil ang engine mo? Or mausok ang muffler mo pag reach mo ng 80kph. Pa compression test mo engine para malaman kung loose compression or Carb problem. Black or carbon deposit sa spark plug ay sign ng sunog na oil or rich gas mixture adjustment ng Carb. Mas mura pa-adjust or cleaning ng carb.

Choice I would have made as well.
