    Hi tsikoteers hingi lang ko payo...

    car details : honda civic 1.5L LXI...

    pinaikling Story : Last friday nasira yung car at makati, buti nalang napaabot ko sa park square I... poped the hood and nakita ko na natanggal yung belt, I assumed na naputol... the following day nagdala ako ng mechanic to replace the belt but ang sira pala yung pulley mismo... kumakalog na kaya nadislodge yung belt... di kaya ng mechanic kaya dinala nalang namin dun sa ansons (ayaw ko talaga sa rapide)... yung first suspicion nila is the crankshaft pulley... pero nung binuksan nila found out worst... yung grooves sa pulley kinain na... parang na-machine shop na... no trace of the grooves and guide... yung quote sakin ng ansons is to replace the whole crankshaft journal plus the other crankshaft parts na aabot sa 32k++ parts and labor... but owner (parents) decided to pull it out and to bring it to another talyer (kakilala) for another estimate...

    question is since the problem is that much would it be better to buy a new engine... another is talaga ba assembly yung crankshaft pag pinalitan... yung crankshaft journal daw kasi yung mahal... 80% ata ng parts cost... has anyoune experienced this ??? calling on the engine gurus...

    Kung kaya ng budget nyo, whole engine na kaso talagang mahal. Pwede rin namang crankshaft assembly lang pero siguradong may add-on pa kayo dyan. Crankshaft is the main internal part of an engine. I used to work in a diesel power plant as an operator, may isang planta kami na crankshaft assembly ang pinalitan. So far sabi naman ng dati kong kasamahan running pa rin yung engine hanggang ngayon.

    may friend ako naka 1.5LXi din and ganayan naging sira, around 20K gastos nya. after 6 mos ganun na naman, 20K na naman.

    kakatakot naman yan... as of this afternoon, pull out namin yung car fron anson and dinala sa talyer... yung quote is around 32k++... 15k++ dun sa crankshaft journal... tingnan namin kung makamura sa talyer... hard part is hindi ako ang final decision pero ako napapagutusan ...

    kasi kung after 6 months ganun nanaman sira grabe na stress nun... sana maayos ng mabuti...

    Some questions bro.
    Ano binuksan nila? Nilabas nila crankshaft? Binaba ba makina?
    Ano ang failure analysis kung bakit nagkaganun?
    Crankshaft ba at hindi camshaft?
    "replace the whole crankshaft journal plus the other crankshaft parts"
    as far as I know (remember) one single part ang crankshaft.
    Try to bring the part sa machine shop for suggestions/recommendation.

    kung tama ang pagkakaintindi ko eh nakalas yung belt sa crankshat pulley then sa pag inspection eh wala nang grooves yung pulley kata kahit pinalitan yung belt eh nakakalas pa din.

    kung ganyan ang problema, yung pulley ang problema at ndi yung crankshaft mismo. palitan mo yung pulley (mejo mahal din ito)

    ngayon, dapat mo din inspect kung bakit ganun.

    pwede din na baka bumigay yung bolt ng pulley mo kaya kahit anung palit ng belt eh kakalas siya. pag ganun meron part ng bolt na naiiwan dun sa crankshaft na kailangan alisin. tapos palit ka ng OEM bolt at pulley (since sabi mo wala na grooves).

    ndi kasi basta basta nasisira yung crankshaft.
