    question lang po...

what is the correct way of measuring oil in the dipstick? first thing in the morning when the engine is still cold? or do you need to warm it up first and wait for the engine to reach its normal operating temperature... turn off the engine and wait for 3-5 minutes then get the reading??? as stated by my SA in Tyt Otis. TIA

Measure the oil after it rested for some 5-10 minutes, when most all the oil drips back to the oil pan. Also take note that the car is on level ground.

so my SA is correct pala in saying that... kinda got used kasi to the practice of checking the oil first thing in the morning when the engine has rested overnight. thanks Mile2

Best way to measure it is on even ground, and prior to re-starting the engine. Sa dipstick merong 2 dots. Oil level should be in the lower dot indicator or in between those 2 dots. Avoid overfilling your engine.
