    mahal naman pa overhaul...

try asking around for an overhaul kit for your car/engine muna... magcanvass ka. the kit should include piston rings, cylinder liners, gaskets, etc... iba ito dun sa top overhaul kit ha... gaskets lang mga yun.

given na yung magpa machine shop pag general overhaul. pag wala ngang liner, ginagawa nila oversize piston rings eh.

kung yung piesa ng canvass + labor + machine shop costs is over 25-30K, forget it... mag straight swap engine ha na lang. pick an engine thats compatible at galing sa surplus japan talaga, hindi yung mga katay dito.

marami kalokohan sa overhaul dre... wag ka paloko. if you want, you can go to reputable toyota tuner shops, tingin tingin ka around the board. if ayaw mo mag engine swap, go to them... ganun din naman singil, sureshot pa most of the time kasi may shop talaga sila at sanay na magbaklas ng mga toyota engines.

original mileage ba talaga nya yan o nakalikot na? ang baba nga para magpa overhaul ka dati.. mas mataas pa yung mileage ko sayo compared sa 94 model yung sasakyan ko.. yung sa akin lang naman since na kinalikot yung sasakyan ko and overhaul talaga kaya kelangan ng machine shop para sigurado na walang sisingaw.. anyway nung nagpa-top overhaul ako mga ginastos ko is about 12k lahat na yun including labor, parts, machine shop. kung kelangan overhaul na yan at gagastos ka ng 30k-up, its better to change the engine na lang, canvass ka muna.. sa speedyfix try mo dalhin para pa estimate mo yung magagastos mo..

thanks for all your inputs... grabe pala talaga... ang sakit sa bulsa pag nagkataon. Isang taon pa lang sa akin ang kotse ko. A little over 100K lang bili ko then 25-30K ang overhaul... Change engine na nga lang siguro kung talagang wala ng solution.

san kaya ang best source ng reliable na surplus engine sa ngayon? baka may pwede kayong ma-refer.

    thanks.

I never had an overhaul before. Our 1988 Nissan Sentra stayed with us for 18 years without overhaul and ang mileage niya when we sold it was 180k+ at hindi mausok matipid pa sa gas.

Just FYI: The 4AFE engine has the cams right by the oil filler hole, talagang tatalsik yung oil when the engine is running due to the rotation of the inside parts that are close to the hole. I once forgot to return the oil cap on ours, napansin ko it did the same thing. Not all engines that spew oil out the oil filler require overhaul.

I think you learned your lesson here - try not to overheat it too often. Kahit matatag ang Toyota engines, no engine is indestructible.

tama si sir mbeige.meron din akong GL.normal lang yung pagtalsik ng langis pag binuksan mo yung oil filler hole pag naandar ang makina.try mo silipin yung oil filler hole pag patay makina.makikita mo yung lamang loob nya.

roninblade... shop owner is jun pilapil - 0921-4295085. I'm not sure about the complete address. alam ko lang is that it's at #31 Azucena St. Kung anong barangay ang nakakasakop, di ko alam. But it's located near de Castro Ave in Pasig. Diretso lang ng Ortigas Extension then pag lagpas ng bridge over Manggahan floodway, first corner would be de Castro Ave (just before an Iglesia ni Cristo church). Turn right, then turn left at the next corner, then turn right at the next which is Azucena St.
