One of the reasons why nagleleak ang Filter is the installation. It should be installed tight and properly aligned. Kung hindi aligned, talagang magleleak yun.
When did the leak occur, right after installation/change oil, or a couple of days or weeks after? Kung right after, the installation should be checked. Kung weeks na ang nakakalipas then nagleak, it could be a filter defect.
Been using VIC filter, and so far OK naman siya.
Just from my experience.

June 16th, 2004 05:41 PM #15guys, i got my pajero 2nd hand and it had 87,000kms.
i immediately change the oil, oilfilter, fuel filter, air filter.
after a week of using it, i started using biodiesel.
people mention that after one or two full tanks using biodiesel, you should replace the fuel filter, tama ba yon?
my pajero is now at 92,000kms. i just change my oil and oil filter. now the question is, should i change fuel filter na rin?

Ang oil filter ata ng ViC ay 350. Ang fuel filter ay 450. I change the oil filter every 5k. The fuel filter goes every 10k.
The secret to a leak free filter is not to install it too tightly. This allows the rubber gaskets to sit well and provide a good seal.
And don't forget to run a layer of oil/fuel on the gasket before instillation.
