Mabilis ako mabawasan ng engine oil. Almost every 2 weeks naglalagay ako ng 1.5 liters of oil. Wala namang leak or oil droppings sa garahe ko kaya for sure walang tagas sa engine. Yung exhaust tip ko mabilis ding umitim kahit kakalinis ko pa lang after 30 mins driving eh may black deposits sa exhaust tip. I'm using 10W-30 and i also tried 10W-40 na para medyo mataas ang viscosity pero ganun pa din. Normal lang ba ito for old cars?
What should i do to avoid this or at least ma-minimize man lang?
thats not normal. what ur experiencing is ur having pre ignition problem. in short di nasusunog ng husto ang gas. check ur injectors baka barado. check ur fuel filter baka barado din.
well sa engine oil. ur having leakages u might have a blown head gasket.better bring it to a respectable talyer.
doesn't sound normal... perfect excuse and pagkakataon mo na pre magpaswap ng engine
pa check mo na lang sa casa or any reputable shops, more likely baka kailangan mo na iparebuilt yan, might as well swap kung malaki ang gagastusin. of course, you can just keep adding oil every 2 weeks, pero the problem is not gonna get better.

if it runs normal pero burning oil, malamang internal problem yan. If its a blown head gasket, you'll have a parang steam coming out of the exhaust pipe maski warm na ang engine and also nagooverheat na ang car. Check mo din kung merong halong water ang oil and if merong exhaust gasses sa cooling system.
kung walang tagas ang engine mo, ok pa cguro ang engine block. malamang ang culprit eh ang internal parts, this could be a little costly to rebuild.
anong brand and type ng oil gamit mo? synthetic or non? and how long mo na gamit that type of oil? try adding din those engine treatment products na design to "stop burning oil" and see what happens.

I've been using Castrol 10W-40 for months pero last weekend nag-change oil ako at nagpalit ng brand ng oil. Gamit ko na ngayun is Valvoline (high Mileage) 10W-30 non-synthetic. Nung nag change oil ako wala naman akong nakitang water mixed-up sa used oil.
I also tried to used "stop burning oil" additives wala epek din.
Wala naman akong nakikitang black/white smoke na lumamabas sa exhaust ko kaya medyo puzzling na nga eh.

baka kailangan mo na palitan ang piston rings, pero kung walang blue smoke coming out sa exhaust, it could be something else, check mo nadin ang valve seals.
if nothing else, pacheck mo sa good shop, then pag nadiagnose na nila, tsaka mo idecide kung pwede mo DIY or hindi yung pagrepair. good luck!
tsk tsk tsk...kung lumalamon na ng langis at wala namang leak possible overhaul na yan, baba makina....
try doing this, while your engine is running remove the oil dip stick, kung malakas ung talsik ng langis...may tagas na piston rings mo....o kaya buksan mo yung takip ng makina kung saan mo binubuhos ang bagong langis, kung malakas ang talsik..overhaul na yan.....bago ka magpa overhaul, canvass ka muna ng surplus na makina...
ako ang kotse ko lancer el..ang surplus na makina 12k..pag nagpaoverhaul ako 4k ang labor then materyales mga around 6k..

since your car is 10+ years old baka malakas na talaga syang lumamon ng oil. Saka gaano ka-frequent mo ginagamit car mo at gaano kalayo yung tinatakbo? . Fequency of use and the distance traveled should be considered dahil luma na engine mo. Try mo munang ipa-tuneup yung engine mo. If it does not get better your last resort would be an engine swap or overhaul.
first check ur spark plugs... check the gap u can see the gap specs under d hood.
2nd check your spark plug cable baka not enough spark coming out kaya di nasusunog yun fuel.
3rd check your spark plug oil seal. if basa ng oil ang spark plug mo theres ur culprit
4th check your head basket or engine for external leaks...
5th check your valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket.
6th check your distributor cap and rotor for cracks and the tips baka kalbo na
fyi head gasket leaks does not neccessarrily theres steam coming out. if u run out of water or coolant sa radiator, thats the time ull see steam coming out of the head and your exhaust valve will be cherry red.
