January 8th, 2009 10:02 PM #1Last saturday po I had may valve seals replaced. What is noticeable though is the decrease in engine power. Tagal mag reach 80 kph even at 5th gear. Could it be improper valve clearance? Di na kase sinukat nung mekaniko yung tappet clearance nung ibalik yung valves, inalog alog nya lang bawat isa at sabi ok na raw yun, basta wala naman daw tukod. If di naman valve clearance, ano po kaya problema?
Need your opinions tsikoteers!
thanks po in advance

Dapat sinukat yung valve clearance at i-check yung timing. Top overahaul ba pinagawa mo?

May pushrod at rocker arm? Clearance should return to previous setting.
Yun lang ba ginawa sa engine mo?

hindi ba talaga ma-avoid messing with the valve clearance when you change the valve seals?

January 9th, 2009 04:52 PM #9possible not to mess with them, but its better to check afterwards. it won't hurt double checking clearances

It can be done. You can check use the short method then insert the filler gauge on the closed valves then adjust those that are off (which is seldom and minimal deviation because of oil) then turn engine 360 degrees then do it again.
