    Mga guru ask ko lang po kung ano talaga ang purpose nitong breather hose connected form the valve cover going to the air intake, tama po ba? Yung sa hilander ko kasi meron konting oil sa loob ng hose. Hindi po ba dapat walang oil doon na dumadaan? normal ba ito? meron din thin smoke coming out of the hose kapag tinitigan mabuti. hindi naman din nagbabawas ng oil. sa mga jeep naman may nakikita ako na may mahabang hose diretso pababa sa engine same lang din ba ito? ok lang din ba na gawin ko ito para hindi pumunta yung konting oil sa air intake? advise naman po thanks!

    that hose is used to route blow by gases (oil vapors, etc) to your intake to be burned by the engine. effect is cleaner emissions as the oil vapors won't be polluting the atmosphere. pag malakas yung singaw, parang may bumubuga ng usok ng yosi, it's one of the signs of loose compression.

    mahina pa naman eh, so ok lang yan, i'd advise you not to mess with it and leave it as is.

    that is not a breather hose but a PCV hose (positive crankcase ventilation) meron dyan oil due to "oil mist" during engine operation, although meron yan oil separator sa loob ng valve cover, still its not sufficient to perfectly separate the oil mixed with air... meron din smoke dyan since your engine blowby hose is tapped to the valve cover then yung PCV hose papunta sa intake to recirculate the blowby gases past the piston rings and valves to the combustion chamber...

    yung mga unang diesel engine meron sila draft tube, yung nakalaylay lang, dati kasi ok lang na ganun ang setup pero modern emission controls, pinagbawal na yung ganung system so pinasok nila sa engine valve cover to recirculate the blowby gases.. normal lang na may usok dyan kasi diesel engines normally have blowby talaga considering na diesel engines operate under high compression to burn fuel...

    pwede mo din ilagay yan sa baba ng engine pero may oil na tutulo dyan gawa nung oil mist, pwede mo din lagyan ng oil collector para hindi magkalat ng langis..

    btw, even gas engines have that PCV hose, although hindi mo mapapansin na may smoke kasi gas engine nga, pero may oil din na makukuha yung engine kaya minsan nasisira yung mga sensor sa intake lalo na kung EFI..

    you can DIY or buy a Oil Collector/Oil Catcher. may mga websites that tells you how to do it.

    guys maraming salamat sa mga info ninyo additional knowledge ito sakin, curious lang talaga ako sa hose na yon, so far wala pa naman ako ginagawang modifications i think hayaan ko na lang sya ng ganon for now.
