Good Day Fellow Tsikoteers...just wondering if it's ok to mix Magnatec SAE 10-40 with GTX 20-50, although parehong Castrol ito.

    Thank you.

As long as it states in the bottle that it is compatible with other oils then it is okay to mix the two.

That's nothing... I mix different blends of synthetic and non-synthetic all the time... when I'm nearing the oil change and the oil gets a bit low, I sometimes top off with a different brand.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Yeah but why do that? it's not like you will spend an arm and leg to buy 4 liters of same viscosity oil.

Baka nanghihinayang sa sobrang oil? OK that does not cost much but if you can utilise it, why not? I've been doing that in the land rover service vehicle the company had provided me previously. The engine is consuming oil (about a liter a week), and it is a much hassle to go to transportation to ask for a refill. since we have capella oil aplenty (refrigeration compressor oil), I just refill it to capacity weekly till the time it will be PM-ed (monthly). It has no adverse effects on the engine for 5 years, till the time the vehicle was deemed beyond economical repair (body and others but not the engine).
