Which is a better brand of oil?

I'm a newbie here.

Ask ko lang po which is a better brand of oil Mobil or Castrol. Alin ding brand ang mas maraming experience.

IMHO...mobil is better than castrol...according to the stories i've heard and read....

but then...it is more expensive....

in our shop...we carry castrol....and that's what i use.

Dieseler swears by Mobil1 Delvac (fully synthetic). Ako walang budget. Pwede na sa Castrol na nabibili sa tindahan ni Glenn. :mrgreen:

IMO, Mobil delvac 1 for full synthetic. Delvac MX 15w40 for mineral based. Find them cheaper than branded oils.

Does Castrol carry a fully synthetic oil in the Phils? Think the Magnatec is only a Semi-Synth but priced like a full synth! Heard they might introduce Formula R full synth oils soon- is this true?

Mobil for me... Delvac MX is pretty reasonably priced (at P110-P115 a pop).

Yup, Delvac MX is fine for turbo diesels as long as 15w40 is within the recommended range in your patrol's manual. I've used it on turbo diesels for some time but change every 4T km.

Roydok, i get either sa Hans Tools in Shangri-la or sa Banawe. Yung sa Banawe, i cant remember the exact name of the shop but it was "Siltech" or something like that. It's on the McDo side of Banawe, the building after Metrobank (on your right side if your coming from Q.Ave). You'll see a Mobil logo on it's signage.

kung regular naman ang change oil mo at hindi ka racer o barumbado na hataw sa daan, kahit anong oil ang gamitin mo pwede na yan. imo. peace be with you.

I currently use Castrol GTD 15W-40 for both our Strada and Trooper. So far smooth naman takbo nila. Napansin ko lang with our Trooper, it used previously Rimula X and Petron Revx Trekker. Malakas kumain ng oil with the two API CH-4 oils. Pero sa Castrol wala halos oil oil consumption eh API CF-4 lang siya. With this I think ok ang Castrol pero try ko Mobil with the next oil change.
