April 24th, 2007 02:00 AM #2yes, Grace's engine was patterned after mitsu 4d56
yes, Besta's 2.2 engine is the same as that of Mazda B2200 pickups...
Besta's 2.7 is not from Nissan, AFAIK, it is also patterned after the existing Mazda engines during that time... from what i had heard from besta 2.7 owners... parts are not that hard to find...

think of the besta as a bigger, longer, and diesel version ng mazda E2000/bongo van... pwede swap ang body parts ng dalawa di mo na mahahalatang besta yun! just like swapping parts from delica/L300-exceed sa hyundai grace, di mo na halatang hyundai siya...
nga pala, for me ha, gusto ko yung version nila na may rear swing-door(not tail-gate, ala AUV rear door), kaya lang baka 2.2lang ang makin nun...ang pangalan nun is kia (besta)-advantageLast edited by alwayz_yummy; April 24th, 2007 at 09:13 AM.

The Besta platform has a Ford, Mazda, Kia, even Nissan version of it. In a variety of wheelbases and body configurations.
The 2.2 is from Mazda. The 2.7 is not from Nissan. AFAIK, it was also Mazda/Ford derived.
