my friend's subic gen2 4d56TDIc pajero has been showing signs of oil coming from his turbo. When we pulled the hose going into the intake manifold, some engine oil came dripping out of the tube. It didnt look like EGR condensate at all. The intercooler was so dirty and filled with oil. The EGR tube from the cylinder head cover to the turbo intake hose (air filter to turbo tube) wasnt really wet.

where could the oil be coming from? What could be the cause of this?

    thanks peepz! peace!

    Pinapakaba lang kita

Actually sa gasoline engine may oil din na lumalabas sa cover going to the air cleaner. Oil in the air cleaner helps in the filtering.

    Hello to Diesel Gurus,
This is an old thread I picked as I search for pajero turbocharging.
How do you know if the turbocharge is still functioning?
What are the signs and manifestation?
Is there a noticeable engine sound and loss of power?
I'm the second owner of my ride and have not known
the condition of my turbocharge as I bought it as I could
not spell the difference, in the first place I do not know
    if the turbos still working.
Another thing, Intercooler fan is working as I start the
engine which means it bypassed the intercooler sensor,
is this ok or is there an urgent need to replace the busted
    sensor and rewire the fan.

    Thanks in advance.

I have in our website a turbo troubleshooting guide which may help....

    Pajerokid,
you know what I think? di mo kailangan ng engine overhaul...yung oil might come from loose bearings and oil seals inside the turbo cartridge which is being fed by the engine for lubrication. what you need is turbo repair...

engine overhaul should only be done if you loose compression already or what we call blowby.
