If your main objective is to save on fuel cost, why not convert to lpg. Its a quick change, 1 to 2 days conversion. Cheap about P25 per liter. Bi-fuel, you can use lpg or gas. Use your current engine and is a proven technology. Here is a very informative thread.

That's not a bad idea either... carb naman ang engine ng Vanette, diba? And it'll cost you only 25-30k.

yeah...not a bad idea indeed. is it possible na mas gumanda ang mileage pag nag LPG ako? they've been saying kase that bumababa ang mileage but the cost of refill is much lower

Another problem you might have pag convert mo from gas to diesel engine is engine weight. diesel engines are heavier compared to gas engines kaya yuo "might" need to change your coils or shock absorbers.

Ganyan nangyari sakin dati nung pinalitan namin yung orig mazda gas engine ng Ford Fiera XLT namin, 4JA1 yung pinalit ko, lagi tumutukod yung stopper ng suspension pag malaking bump ang dinadaanan.

guys i must admit this page got a lot informational. salamat na rin sa mga information kahit contributor din lang ako. any way for pareng ravel cop, all engine names mentioned are Nissan engines found on nissan cars like sentra, altima, serena, blue bird etc.... and most importantly some of the engines mentioned eh makina mismo ng vanette on other countries like japan, u.k, and as mentioned by otep and kewlrides eh sa states... un nga. kase ung vanette natin sa pinas na hanggang model 98 ka-body type lang nag sa states na na-release nung 1985 pa or earlier.
consider the option nung lpg conversion....balitaan mo na lang kame.

gudpm mga sir ravelcop. . . i'm just curious kung ano na nagyari sa vanette mo? have you tried doing any of the suggestions that was given to you by this forum? i'm just want to know kung anong solution ang pinili mo and if ok ang naging result. . . i also have a vanette and i must admit medyo malakas nga sa gas . . . may nagsabi din sakin na try ko palitan ng diesel engine. . . gusto ko sana malaman kung ok ung sa sportage or yung sa revo yung kinabit mo. . . thx. . .
