May 16th, 2003 02:25 PM #31I also use Shell Helix Plus Semi-Synthetic (blue). I change oil every 6 mos or 5000 kms.
I also install original oil filter (honda) bought at casa. I use engine oil flush (I read somewhere that this is bad for the engine), but I don't put in any additives.

sir marwen pwede po...API rating niya is API-SJ and ACEA A1-98, B1-98(API-SL for Energy Synthetic and the latest Formula)
The Amerian Petroleum Institute (API) has established a series of Service Classifications for engine oils used for service fill of gasoline engine. These are the "S" categories, generally accepted as being for service station or spark ignition applications. Each service category is defined by a set of engine tests. Each engine test is run under stringent conditions, and engine components are examined at the end of the test and rated. Minimum pass requirements are set for each test requirement.

Q:Can I use Havoline Energy in my diesel engine car, 4-wheel drive etc in order to reduce my fuel bill?
A:The answer to this is a qualified yes. Havoline Energy meets ACEA B1, a European automotive industry specification which defines fuel efficient engine oils for light duty (ie not truck, bus etc) diesel engines. So if your owner’s manual calls for an oil meeting ACEA B1, or allows the use of low viscosity engine oils then you may certainly choose to use Havoline Energy. However, if you live in a part of the world where diesel fuel sulfur is still relatively high (e.g. parts of Africa and the Middle-East) then you may need to use a shortened drain interval in comparison with diesel engine oils specifically developed for use with moderate to high sulfur content fuels.

just like wat u said "pain is temporary ..... glory is forever! parang pagbili din ng FULLY SYNTHETICS! hehehe

May 17th, 2003 12:46 AM #36ok kaya din kaya yung mga engine oil bought sa casa? php90/l(php320+/4l) lang yung mineral-based oil ng mitsubishi(api sj rating). may magiging masamang effect kaya kung gagamitin yung engine oil from mitsu sa toyota car or vise-versa?
kung iko-compare naman with well-known brands, malaki kaya ang difference na nai-o-offer na protection ng well-known brand(engine oil) as compared dun sa engine oil bought sa casa?

May 17th, 2003 12:01 PM #37Engine protection and longevity will matter more on the frequency of your oil change in the long run if you are a regular driver.

May 18th, 2003 11:58 AM #38my ride is a 02 altis. ang required na oils are 5w30, 10w30, 15w40 and 20w50.
ok lang kaya gumamit ng 10w40 na oil?
after using toyota synthetic sa last pms ko, pwede kaya akong mag energy?
5w30? ung 5w,granted its gud sa cold starts. eh ung 30, is it too thin or thick enough to handle ung init sa pinas.
bago ung packaging ng energy ha, api-sl na tapos may nakalagay na synthetic. fully synthetic na ba talaga sya?
my other choices: CASTROL SYNTEC 10W40 and TURBO XP 15W50.
boss chieffy, enlighten me...

You might want to try MILLEX. It's parafin base and every 20,000 km change oil ang claim ng supplier. JKD marketing ang distributor. P250 per liter when I last ordered. Free delivery w/in metro manila. Tel # 3739646.
I've tried it sa corolla ko, and very satisfied ako. Di ko lang pina abot ng 20K kasi baka filter ko naman bumigay. At 16K nag change oil ako and believe or not OK pa condition ng oil when my mechanic darined my engine.
:D
Puwede i try, 1. Palit air filter 2. Linis throttle body 3. Linis MAF sensor 4. Check spark...
high idle RPM at engine start
