Personally I prefer to refill at 1/4 left in the tank. But the difference between refueling at 1/4 & 1/2 tank levels is negligible, assuming the gasoline station is along your normal route.

if you leave your fuel tank always low, the air that enters the tank contains moisture and in time condense and accumulate and settle at the bottom of your tank. this will consequently cause rough engine idle and occasional sputtering. true, a low fuel level fuel tank is lighter and therefore conserve a little bit of fuel. if the fuel in the tank sits there for months at a time, the fuel becomes stale resulting in poor engine performance and tend to develop gum and varnish all throughout the fuel system. if the fuel will have to sit there for an extended period of time, it is recommended you add fuel stabilizer that's readily available at hardware stores.

1 Km balikan? Gusto mo makatipid? Magbike ka na lang. Lapit lang nung 1 Km. Tipid na sa gas, bawas polusyon pa.

don't use any additive. If I were you refill at half tank. And take drive your car longer on the weekends to let it breathe.

boy would I love to be in this situation - ok nga magbike nalang

I would load ideally at half tank but most of the time between 1/4 and 1/2 especially with the current situation (starting from the closed pipeling up to the problems in Libya)
Never go near empty is a must
