Wait for it to die
Buy batt every X years.

I usually wait for the car to show signs of the battery dying. In my car, City'03, the power window's single pinch button on the driver side will stop working. Also, when starting the car, there's a telltale "wrong" sound when the engine revs before starting. Normally, it's "WEH-WEH-Broom!" When the battery is close to dying, my car starts up, "WEHHHHH-WEH-Broom!"
Heheheh....
When any of the two happens, I usually have 1-2 days to replace the battery before it goes flat dead.
happen to my honda crv A/T dec.2002 nabili, then nung pms checkup year 2005, time na pipikupin ko na from casa ayaw start sakto me mga service crew dun kaya no prob. la kase akong sign na nakita na mahina na batt. iniwan ko kase sa casa for 3 days ata (change oil, undercoating, hydrophilic and engine wash). . . .di ko na paabutin 3 years batt ko : )
i always wait for the battery to show signs of weakening before replacing, pero never yung patay na talaga..delikado yun tirikan pa ako sa malayong lugar
I wait for it to die...
My current one (Motolite Gold 3SM MF) will turn 4 years old on October...
So far, malakas pa rin, pero binuksan ko na yung seals nya for top-up and checking of specific gravity of the solution (mula last year)... wala na rin namang warranty eh - and I might be able to still prolong its life by always checking the solution.![]()
wait for it to die... kailangan masulit para hindi sayang...
usually malalaman mo pag malapit na matigok during cold start, preferably early in the morning...
to prolonge the life always check the battery fluid, except for those who have or using maintenance free...
one more thing, over charging shortened the life of the battery. kapag lumobo ang battery over charged iyun...

to the OP:
you can always have the battery and the vehicle's electricals checked. my trusty battery dealer does it for free, testing for the battery's nominal output, charge capacity, and what-not. it then gives out a reading, giving you an idea just how 'healthy' the battery is.
or pwede rin 'pakiramdaman'.fresh batteries crank and start any vehicle almost instantaneously, assuming there are no other problems. batteries that have been in use longer take more time to crank and start.

speaking of changing batteries
san ba mura bumili? i checked around evangelista today and 3sm motolife excel cost in the upper 5K to 6K![]()
Try Motolite enduro its their lower end battery. 1 year warranty, just bought one for P3450, sa Lipa City nga lang.
Ok din Outlast, per their website 3SM or N70 prices:
Premium 1 year warranty 4,300, pag di tubig 1 year warranty P3,600
Super preimum 15 month warranty P4,000
Super preimum 20 months warranty P5,400
Exceed 24 months warranty P6,000
BTW, san mura bumili ng 8D or N200? I need 2 eh ang mahal ng Motolite and Outlast. Pinaka murang canvass ko ay P9,000 each 9 months warranty lang. Ok kaya ang ibang brands? Tatagal kaya?
wait for it to die AFTER you or your mechanic (w/ electrical know-how) have checked terminals, alternator charging &/or starter (for starting problems), ignition coil, high tension wires, fuses, etc.
a lot of alternator defects are mistaken to be caused by weak or dead battery.![]()
