You did not say what year of the car also if it is manual or auto. Anyway, heres where to look for.
I dont know if your car equip w/ electronics speedometer, if it is your speed sensor is located in the transaxle/transmission it sends a pulse to the dash unit wich is converted to a reading this is an improvement over cable systems because there are less moving parts to wear out or break causing either noise or failure.
If mechanical, likely its in the transmission look under the hood look down to the top of the trans. behind the motor you should be able to see it from there.

July 9th, 2008 06:13 PM #3Thanks for the reply v6dreamer. It's a 1997 Toyota Noah Townace, automatic. The personnel from the electrical shop said it is equipped with electronics speedometer. Yes you are right the speed sensor is located in transaxle/transmission. My problem now is where to find one because as I've said earlier, when inspected, the sensor is missing and it was surmised that the first owner of the car removed it.

I'd freak out on the original owner... tanggal speed sensor? To hide the mileage?
You'd have to find out the part number off the internet or from Toyota, and see if the speed sensor for another car will fit.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

+1, hanapan mo yung may-ari.
hanap ka sa mga gilid-gilid na surplus street shops dyan. you could also try and compare if you can fit an older townace electronic speedometer. though only few models use electronic speedometers.
+2. Oo nga, try mo search sa net, search mo part no.
