???How would you know if grounded oto???

Hello fellow tsikoters...

i know this is quite stupid question, but its better to ask..

my battery is 22 months old na (Optimum Gold Maitenance free)

nagamit kopa oto ko nung friday, then naka park siya magdamag, then kinabukasan na hapon pag gamit ko ng oto, diskargado yung battery, pati yung door indicator light patay nadin...hinde kinaya sa tulak..

what i did is to buy a new battery and so far ok naman siya...

i try asking some neighborhood mechanic sa amin kung pano malalaman kung grounded oto..sabi nila is to remove the positive connector from the terminal then e kiskis to sa terminal, kung may spark daw meaning grounded yung oto..

i try it and nag spark siya for 5 times, then after that kiskis kopa wala ng spark..

ano kaya ang problema? battery ko? or grounded oto ko? pano aayusin pag grounded oto mo...any inputs will be greaty appreciated...

i dont know about the spark kung ganon nga testing yun pero as far as i can see mukang your batt just gave up na. kasi kung grounded talaga yan... it will drain the batt every single time na nakapark yung car. did you do a test the batt before buying a new one?

IMO its no grounded... when you replaced the batt, the problem was resolved na eh.

pag nilagay mo either terminals ng battery at may spark.. un ay 1 of the indicators.. pagawa mo yan..one of the causes ng sunog yan..

that will be another way to FRY your vehicle computer, the worst advice you got. search the net for "parasitic draw test" and you'll learn a lot.

Im also using motolite maintenance free Gold but mine last for 3yrs and 8months or almost 4yrs din. but for you 22months lang parang ang bilis ata... Anyway im sure baka may naiwan kang naka-on during nakapark yang oto mo... sana before ka bumili ng new bat pina-check mo muna ang existing bat mo kung okay pa baka na-discharge lang. Check mo din ang alt ng oto mo baka yun ang culprit nung time na ginamit mo at hindi mo namalayan na hindi na pala nagkakarga ang alt mo.

Normal lang ang ganyan lifespan ng maintenance free batt ung Motolite ko nung exacto 1 year nag order na ako pero walang symptoms of weak voltage na park lang ng 3 days biglang ayaw na mag start kabit kaagad ako ng bago. Kung grounded ang auto kung na kukuryente ka sa pag hawak sa metal but this is not a reliable sign kung lagi diskargado usaully 1 day bago mawala then grounded try borrowing a batt from other cars and test it for a while but i suggest to geta new one anyway because a discharged battery at that age is unreliable get the non maintenance free cause it is more reliable or for non maintenance mega force is a great brand

i did try to purchased a new battery motolite enduro, ok naman siya so far, pero yung pinark ko ng 24 hours sa amin, kinabukasan ayun..patay ulit yung battery..

i try to have it series, nag start siya, kinabitan ng meter and it shows na kumakarga (ok alternator), pero pag pinatay ko makina at tangal yung susi, may ilaw sa check engine niya..hinde naman ganun ka on yung ilaw pero may konting ilaw siya..

eto pa yung weird, i try to remove the negative wire sa ternimal na battery, shempre patay lahat...may naririnig ako ng parang click na tunog sa fuse box malapit sa battery, tapos kinabit ko ulit yung negative sa terminal, wala na yung konting ilaw sa check engine, tapos iniwan ko ng mahigit 24 hours nakakabit yung battery at naka on yung alarm, kinabukasan ok naman, hinde na diskarga..

ano kaya possible sira sa oto ko? to be honest natatakot ako na baka bigla nalang sumabog yung sasakyan ko habang nakasakay ako...

please help me mga fellow tsikoters....ano possible sira at san recommend niyo na kaya mag ayos nito...

Kung mayroon kang aftermarket alarm baka yun ang nag cause ng short. By the way the correct term is not "grounded" kasi mechanics will say "all cars are grounded" kasi that's just how electronics work. There's a battery drain in the electrical system, or "short" as in short circuit.

If I were you kuha ka ng multimeter, or test light, then check each fuse for continuity.

possible meron ka defective relay na hindi nag fully open when you turn OFF your key switch...also possible na yung relay (yung nadidinig mo na nag click) is still receiving small voltage kaya hindi sya nag dis engage... nag drain battery mo overnight kasi meron pa naka on sa car mo kahit naka off na..if meron ka accessories like aftermarket car alarms possible meron mali sa wiring...

the whole chassie is the ground itself kaya talagang grounded ang mga oto.
now to check if you have a short circuit, gamitan mo ng multi tester bro.

sir hindi kaya talo yung alternator sa load car mo? my sister encountered the same problem, nagkamali ng timpla sa clutch and gas then hindi na nagstart. when we went to a batt shop, the alternator is charging but not enough to charge the batt. or pwede rin na faulty wiring sa aftermarket stuff.

palagay ko tama si yapoy86, maaring relay nga yung naririnig mong "click" pag dini-disconnect mo yung negative terminal ng battery, ibig sabihin kahit naka-off na yung ignition switch, naka-energize pa rin yung relay. Suggest ko check mo yung ignition switch baka meron nang mga "asin" linisin mo lang muna.....suggestion ko lang yun ha?

Normal lang un spark kpag knakabit battery kasi kahit nakapatay ignition switch merong konti load s alarm,stereo, clock, at ecu at shmpre may capacitor ang electronics hihigop ng kuryente un pero not to the extent n madidiskarga kagad battery. May electrical gremlin ang oto kya nadiskarga, leakage ng kuryente. Un clicking sound posible relay socket na madumi, sunog na plastic due to overloading - naactivate ang primary winding sa umido, baka nabasa or may problem wiring ng alarm.

reminder, when removing battery, neg is the first to remove, and last when put back.

Below are some steps on finding if you have the parasitic battery drain.

1. Remove the negative side battery cable from the negative battery terminal.
2. Attach an ammeter(this measures amperage) between the negative cable and the negative battery post. Wait a few seconds to several minutes for the car to go into sleep mode - i.e. when you make the contact with the ammeter, the cars computer systems "wake up". After a bit of time they will go back to "sleep".
3. If the ammeter is reading over 25-50 milliamps, something is using too much battery power.
4. Go to the fuse panel(s) and remove fuses, one at a time. Pull the main fuses (higher amp ratings)last. Be sure to observe the ammeter after pulling each fuse.
5. Watch for the ammeter to drop to acceptable drain. The fuse that reduces the drain is the draw. Consult the owners' manual or service manual to find what circuits are on that fuse.
6. Check each device (circuit) on that fuse. Stop each lamp, heater, etc. to find the drain.
7. Repeat steps 1&2 to test your repair. The ammeter will tell you exact numbers.

Hi there,

May problema din yung pick up ko regarding electricals.

When I went out to start the vehicle, I noticed dun sa battery gauge nya na low na yung power. So i assume na na-diskarga yung battery. Another thing that I noticed is kahit naka tanggal yung susi ko, gumagana pa din yung mga power windows. Normal operation nya is pag naka 'ON' lang yung ignition switch, dun lang gagana yun. What could've happened in my vehicle? 3x ko na kasi pinapa charge yung battery ko. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
