hi there, newbie here. i have a honda lx 94 and though it has a new battery (barely 4months) it will not start after i have not used it for 2 or 3 days or so. i have another car, a 96 GLI and i dont have a problem with is even if i dont use it for a week.

could this be an alternator problem? or a battery issue?

    help please... thanks

there are some things to do here ( NO CRANK)

check for current draw / should'nt be more than .050 Amp

if ok go to next step

disconnect neg battery cable and leave the car sitting for three days

if the car won't start, battery problem

may consider to bring it to your trusted auto electrical shop

girl po ako but anyway thank you for you replies

uh that's what we try to do if we dont get to use the car for a few days, disconnect the negative battery cable, and it wont have any problem starting.

yesterday, it wont start and we had to jumpstart it using our van's battery. it wont start coz i havent used it for 3 or 4 days and i forgot to disconnect the negative battery cable.

kapag nastart ko na sya and mainit na ang makina, no problem starting it again. only when tha car is idle for 2 days or so.

    thoughts??

you definitely have a wiring problem

a current draw of more than .050 amp is not good to the battery

get it checked by an auto electrician

they should be able to correct it

btw, what do you mean hindi nagstart after days of not using it? pero may redondo nung nagtry ka istart? malakas o none at all?

before nung may kotse pa ako powered by gasoline engine may naging problem din ako sa starting and lately we found out na fuel pump ang culprit not the bat or alt.

Sis, first question ko. Are you first owner or second / third owner na. Meaning, did you buuy the car brand new o second hand na.

Second question: Kung brand new when you bought it, did you have any accessories ( Stereos, Fog lamps, back up lamps, alarms...etc) attached that aare not standard? If Second hand, did the car come accessorized.
In most cases, any accessory attached to the car, if not properly connected, will become a drainer of your batteries.

Tama si bambino, just bring your car to a qualified auto electrician, HUWAG LANG BASTA ELECTRICIAN, HA! or bring it sa casa. Mahal ang singil but they know the car very well.

Pagdating sa need to step on the gas pedal once to start, tune -up po yan. Also, need to clean your fuel system, easpecially the fuel filter. malamang, sa tagal na ng kotse mo ay di pa napalitan yan. Kung carb system, have the carb overhauled na rin.

At most, your engine may need de-carbonization or top over haul.
