    Can anyone give me an idea "how" the repair of this kind of problem is done? Both our 93 Corolla Gli have the same problem as both logged 250,000 km between them.

    could be just loose sensors. or the gears in the instruments themselves (tumatalon talon needles up and down but at normal engine speeds).

    Actually, the needles just rise a little above "0" even when higher speed is already achieved.
