LOL samsung is considered one of the best li-ion makers in the world. the note7 batt was just a fluke. sony had a massive recall many years ago

under the seat? right above the fuel tank? nice tip. if i were to carry such a device in my car i would weld up a 1/8" steel box to contain it in the event of a collision. when you spill gasoline the last thing you need is a li-ion fire to ignite it

You don't seem to know the concept of humor. LOL.

Anyway, about putting it under the seat, put it this way, regardless of where you store it, if it ignites, your car is toast.... fuel or no fuel.

It just so happens that the area under the seat will be the last area to warm up when the car is baking under the sun.

And not that it matters, in case you didn't know, not all cars have fuel tanks under the seat, silly!

the drone i ordered for my son arrived today. there's another use for the power bank, charging the spare batteries from the usb ports for uninterrupted fun.

obviously, you haven't yet experienced your car battery die on you.
i have had mine die on me, more times than i care to remember.
    heh heh.

doubt all these powerbanks can juice a really dead battery. buy this primarily as a powerbank, not as a jumpstarter

Plenty of videos from YouTube to show you it works.

They even disconnected the car battery and just use the powerbank directly to start the engine.

there are two other seats in the typical car, where there is no fuel tank underneath. you can choose those locations, instead.

Can't we just wrap it in 1 to 2 layers of insulating foam (the silver sheet used for roofing insulation) and call it a day? Temp and shock protection, no?

I for one think it's nice to have in case of emergency. Murphy's Law and everything.

well for fender benders, yes. but for major collisions, nope. they're just encased in plastic, easy to crack, then the cells get punctured or the conductors inside short. take note these conductors are separated only by VERY thin layers of PVC or kapton

    well it wasn't funny haha

actually in a crash those things go flying everywhere. murphy's law says it'll fly right into the puddle of gasoline and ignite it

    Binge watch Final Destination much?

Hay naku! You can nit pick all day if you want.

Sige, name one instance.... isa lang.... just a SINGLE incident.... that a fire or explosion erupted as a result of a vehicular accident that involved a Li-Ion/Li-Poly power bank as the SOURCE of the fire.

    Well? {chirp chirp} Meron? {chirp chirp} Ano yun? {chirp chirp}

Like I said, the only reason Li-Ion power banks explode inside vehicles is when it is exposed to extreme heat.... aside from the fact that the battery may have been designed by the same guy who approved the Note 7 battery.

Parang sa action movies, basta nabaril ang sasakyan, sasabog. Basta nabangga, sasabog. Basta nahulog, sasabog. We all know these are just for effects and thrills. Sa real life, di naman ganun.

Hehe. Huling dumating ang mga pulis.
Simple lang para malaman natin kung sasabog. Ibilad sa araw hanggang alas tres saka ihampas sa pader.

wala naman sinabi na sasabog pag nasa sasakyan mo e. ang sinabi lang e be aware where you place it inside your car. so what was said is to just take precautions. don't place it where if you car is in a collision the battery will be damaged and thus cause a bigger accident. so common sense lang don't put it on the door pockets, or rear tool compartment if your vehicle happens to be an suv. yun lang. simple lang. walang sinabi na huwag kang bumili. wala din sinabi na sasabog yan 100% of the time. ang sinabi lang e ingatan.

nilahat nyo naman agad. parang dutertard ang reasoning e.

yan inexplain na ni yebo. it's not only heat that'll cause them to explode. there are so many ways:

-punture or other physical trauma. goto youtube. dami vids

-poor mech design. the nickel strips that go to the terminals of the cells might rub (due to frame flex etc) and cause perforation of the thin insulators (typically kapton tape) causing shorts

-poor electrical design. or faulty electronics. overcharging causes them to explode

-manufacturing defects in the cells may cause fire/explosion

how do i know? not 1 meter from me is a lithium ion pack w/ 200 cells. i built it. so i know what i'm talking about

This had been a good pissing contest. Nobody wins but get pissed off. But then again, it's better to get pissed off than pissed on. Continue boys, it's entertaining.

One of these proved useful today. It's one of those Crony brands sold in Lazada.
