    Pwede ba wood varnish? hehe

    actually, pangtouch up ko lang ng konti sa mga may gasgas na field coils ng starter at alternator. may nakita lang naman ako nun na pinapahid gamit ang brush sa isang electrical shop. kala ko nga nun red oxide primer lang. pero ibang klaseng insulation kako.

    may old starter ako na zero ohms ang reading sa pagitan ng field coil at housing. pero kapag tinitignan mo yung coils e wala naman visible damage or scratches. baka nasa kasingit singitan ng coils yung tama. balak ko ibabad sa varnish baka sakali mabuhay ko pa.

    kaya ayan mga braders ang aking katanungan.

    pwede rin kaya yung sphero insulating varnish? rated ba for electrical wirings (copper windings) na exposed to hot temperatures?

    wood varnish will be fine.
    but once your coils get shorted, no amount of varnishing will reverse the problem.

    I'm all for DIY but it might not be worth fixing if there's even a slight chance na itirik ka nyan.

    Particularly kung nag-overheat na yan before (at natunaw yung insulator) at may mga nagdikit na na windings.
