October 25th, 2009 09:22 PM #1Car is Honda Civic VTI a/t 2000 model. Victim of typhoon ondoy. Car already fixed. one problem lang is yung high beam ng headlight is not working. actually yung sa left lang. yung sa right gumagana. ive already replaced the terminal nung hindi gumagana, still ganun pa din. pati yung sa gauge na indicator ng high beam, hindi rin umiilaw. is there any thing i can do to check what the problem is? TIA

yope07,
your car might have a combination switch (headlight switch mounted on the steering column) that has split circuits for the headlights and water intrusion has caused a corrosion on the contacts. if you could remove the combo switch, you need to make sure too anyway on checking this safety related item, take it off the car and spray clean the innards with electrical contact cleaner and dry it off with the "dust off" cleaner that you use for computer keyboard to remove or dislodge foreign material that might be stuck inside the switch.
