Have anybody done a DRL install on their ride? If yes, saan ninyo kinonect?

Most articles I saw install it in parallel lang sa park light....what I want to do is connect it sa "main" so that pag tumatakbo ang auto nakasindi siyang kusa without turning the park ligh on.

LED lights ang ilaw ko, kaya no no worries about power consumption.

I am thinking of taping it sa ACC. Kasi pag ang switch ay normally nasa ACC position when running. Would this be the right option?

If possible sa ACC, do I still need to use a relay (and power the LEDs from the batteries and not the ACC)? I know my LEDs are less than 6watts...so I was thinking about not using a relay na.

Any opinions or inputs is appreciated.

tapping on ACC should be ok, just make sure you have a fuse for the LED long wiring

I tapped mine to Pin#8 of OBD2 (Key ON position) and used a relay for added safety.

Im planning to build a simple voltage sensor circuit maybe zener cutoff. This will allow DRL to open only when it senses charging voltage(Engine/alternator running), better option than splicing the oil pressure switch which is earth triggered.

Sir bakit when I search about OBD2, blank ang Pin #8. Yung Pin #16 ang 12v+ ?

The zener diode plan mo is also good! Post mo dito pag naging successful.

Ang plan ko naman ay plain swithc over-ride lang, para puedeng naka-off din kung ayaw mo ng DRL.

Sir, check mo sa actual kung may naka crimp na wire. I used a tester to verify pin#8 and its consistent with my research.

    Pin Signal Description
    1 CHECK
    2 J1850 Bus+
    4 CGND Chassis ground
    5 SGND Signal ground
    6 CAN High J-2284
    7 K-LINE (ISO 9141-2 and ISO/DIS 14230-4)
    8 Ignition ON
    9 ABS
    10 J1850 Bus-
    11 Adjust Switch
    12 SCI TX
    13 SCI RX
    14 CAN Low J-2284
    15 ISO 9141-2 L-LINE (ISO 9141-2 and ISO/DIS 14230-4)
    16 +12v StorageBattery power

Actually nasimulan ko na yung zener regulator hindi lang stable, kelangan lagyan ko ng timer for delay. Iniisip ko pa kung comparator or NAND gates kaso natatamad ako, no time eh..hehe

BTW, im already using temporary(temperament kapag tinamad, lol) 3-position rocker switch.

Toggle with key ON -- OFF -- Toggle with park lights

Upper switch for DRL, while lower sw reserved for rear DRL/fog.
