Daytime running lamp (DRL, also daytime running light)
Naisip ko lang...
Since most entry level cars walang DRL...
May special fuse ba ang top of the line cars na ginagamit for DRLs?
Although yung mga mas bata nating members will mention na DRLs are LED lights... Nung early 90's most American cars' parking lights (and instrument panel) will light up once naka-on yung ignition ng car. Fast forward to the present time, ginawa lang LED yung lights... (Salamat Audi)

And then deactivated siya kapag naka on na ang park lights and headlights. Although may option na always activated siya.
siyempre correct wiring and all na siya (connected sa fuse and everything).

July 25th, 2020 01:00 AM #7Use a voltage sensor to turn the foglamps on only when the engine is running. Another relay will be wired in parallel to the existing fogLamp relay contacts.

Ah, another DRL thread. Well let me tell you, I've been a believer that we don't need DRL in a tropical country. We don't have winter nor do we encounter fog on a regular basis (except maybe in one or two places), and for if we do encounter inclement weather or where there's limited visibility, you can simply turn on your low beams.
DRL is just light pollution, IMO.
Who needs DRL then? Motorcycles do. But as it is, in a sea of DRL from all vehicles on the road, you're likely to bury the motorcycles in all the "noise".
BUT, if you're hell bent on putting a DRL and want it to behave like OEM, make it so that it can sense that you're neither in Park or Neutral and that the ignition is ON, before lighting up the DRL. Proper DRLs don't turn on with the engine. They only turn on when the vehicle is shifted into any of the drive gears.
If that's difficult, another easy way to achieve similar results, is to sense the position of the handbrake. When the ignition is on and the handbrake is down, DRL should be on. In any other combination, the DRL should be off.
