I'd really like to see LiFePO4 car batteries to become mainstream soon. When properly maintained, it nominally lasts 10 years, doesn't need a float charge, and density for density, its size and weight is a fraction of an equivalent lead-acid battery.

They're currently in the $400 range..... from China. Not bad if they'll be as advertised. Been following some Skyactiv LiFePO4 experiments specifying beefed up BMS+temp control & A123 ultraphosphate cells.....It's about time to say g'bye to the heavy, engineered-to-die-quick flooded lead acid.

Yeah, but that's still hardly mainstream. At best, they're a niche and at worst, we don't know yet how well they do in terms of aftersales support and more importantly, safety. Though on paper at least, LiFePO4 is significantly safer than LiIon or LiPo batteries. Though I'm sure it will still raise some eyebrows as images of exploding phones, laptops, and vape hardware cross their mind.

I believe once the mainstream car battery brands starts carrying them, costs will be lower. They'll probably sell their lead-acid batteries even lower at a bargain. Consumers win.

    Amaron LiFePO4... that'll be a winning combo.

    Sorry for the OT.

LiFePO4 batteries has been around for at least 15 years. I'm just wondering why it's not getting more widespread use. Maybe in another 10 years, after masira yung current battery ko? hehe

i think masyado pang expensive to manufacture for all applications. Probably in the next decade or so possibly na mag mura na iyan like sealed lead acid, when the electric cars become a mainstream.

i got some A123 26650 lifepo4. they're like "C" cells. 8 cells are enough to start a car. perfect as a jump starter

but as lead-acid replacement they shouldn't be in the super hot engine compartment

Any long-term LFP battery users (UPS, car, or motorcycle) that cares to share their feedback or written review here?

as per my opinion ay overpriced ang readygo by 100%

Based on the video above, ang ninipis ng wire leads. No wonder ang laki ng voltage drop.

Di ba pwede reklamo sa DTI yan? Regardless of what nonsense they're saying about their app to deny you warranty, the battery is clearly defective if it's dropping down as low as 7V.

A simple multi-tester connected across the battery leads while starting the car will show the condition of the battery without need to rely on their useless app.

Pag lithuim batts meron din yan continuous discharge capacity.. not enough yung mataas lang ampere hour..

Kaya dapat mataas yan to sustain yung sudden boost / power demand.. otherwise it will not be able to sustain yung continuous crank

I'm looking for LiFePo4 powerbanks that I can use to power my dashcams for 24x7 use. Baka meron dito nakagamit na ok?
