i assume your car is a civic (based on information on your profile).
ang alam ko sa civic if the batteries or one of its terminals are disconnected by 10 minutes, reset na ang ECU.
without removing the batteries, ECU can be reset by removing the ECU fuse.
i might be wrong though.

Removing battery terminal for more than 5 minutes will reset the Keep Alive Memory (KAM) and will return the ECU or PCM to its default setting. After resetting the ECU and KAM, vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. Adaptive learning contents such as idle speed and fuel trim are included. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow PCM to relearn values for optimum drieability and performance.

Will removing the battery terminals for more than 10 mins clear a CEL? Or do I need an OBDII scanner to clear it? I'm asking bec a defective high tension wire caused misfiring and lit up my CEL. Car is a Chevy Venture.
