Recently tumirik ako sa may Timog rotonda, nag overheat ang sasakyan ko. Nissan Altima matic.
Kahit anong pihit sa ignition, ayaw magstart, kahit redondo. tinulak nlang sa petron, buti nlang malapit lang. pag check sa radiator, wala nang tubig. ang naging fix ay jump start using a different battery from a very helpful citizen. nagcharge na un battery ko after nagidle ng mga 10mins so i dont think alternator ang problema.
question:
nagoverheat ba ang engine dahil nadiskarga ang battery? naka aircon ako at hindi malakas na sounds.
Hirap magstart ang tsikot ko sa Park even before that incident happend. Magstart lng sya pag shift sa Neutral and after 3 trials. Siguro di ko rin kc check un water bago ako umalis. Please help!

January 15th, 2009 10:04 AM #2Walang kinalaman ang drained battery sa overheat. You mentioned na wala ng tubig sa raidator mo, so look around for leaks sa radiator, supply hoses and water pump.
Other symptoms you mentioned indicate a weak or dying battery. Baka its time for you to buy a new one.

January 15th, 2009 10:07 AM #3Hindi nakaka overheat ang drained battery. Nataon lang na medyo mahina na battery mo sa pagkatuyo ng coolant …. check mo lagi level ng coolant mo para iwas abala. kung de tubig battery mo sabay mo na rin i-check kahit once a month.

January 16th, 2009 08:27 AM #4sabi nga ng mekaniko walang kinalaman. nangyari ulit yan sakin. 10 days ko kc di ginamit, nka park lng sya- covered sa labas ng bahay. ginamit ko without even checking the water. muntik na tumirik, wla na pala tubig. i should have checked first before using it. un fx kc namin hindi na chinecheck, alis agad khit di ginagamit. nilagyan ko ng papel sa ilalim to check kung may leak. after 24hrs wla namn tulo. so i guess nagevaporate un tubig. nilagyan ko na din ng coolant to make sure.
